Rounding does suck, don't ever do it :) Societal pressures and stereotypes distract you from actually living your own life (pushing you instead toward other people's views of how your life should be). Numbers are merely arbitrary, as long as you have the body and mind to keep up with the things you like to do... age will eventually take its toll, but only let it do so when you have no other choice ^^
Also, congrats on actively seeking to volunteer your time toward activities that you like and simultaneously help others in the process :)

Happy early birthday! I will have to show those pics to my oldest when he gets home from kindergarten. He is obsessed with legos right now and got a ton for Christmas. If only they didn't hurt so much to step on! We are actually planning a trip to Legoland this year to surprise him. As for age since I will be the same in the fall I will be referring to it as mid-thirties and not almost forty lol.

I've recently discovered there is a Lego Inside Tour at the Legoland in Billund... But then I looked at the price and ever since I'm trying to forget it again...

That sounds like something my whole family would love but its probably really expensive (price wasn't listed on your link) and its not offered at legoland in the US it seems.

Nah, only at their home base in Denmark cause it includes meeting the designers and seeing the factories and stuff... Hm, there should be a price somewhere... But I can just tell you, it's 14500 DKK which should be around... 2400$. Per person. For 2 nights. Without travel... Well, it includes food, entry into Legoland and afaik shopping with employee discount, but still that's SLIGHTLY more then I would be willing to pay

yes after some googling i found the price and its super expensive but I found this article which describes all three days to see what they actually get to do. Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Also was interesting that you cannot just book the tour but have to signup for it and hoped you are picked by their lottery system to go.

And, hey, you're not that old. My brother just got married last year at 43, and they're hoping to have kids this year. And a past co-worker of mine had his first kid at 45, so you definitely still have time to find a wife and have kids, if that's what you want. In the meantime, enjoy the volunteering and the free time. There's no free time after kids.

Start investing time in more social activities. I don't know if you're attractive or ugly, but as long as you have a good job and you can provide a nice life to a future partner, you should be a more than proper candidate for a few women. You're still young dude, don't waste that.

Well, it is that time of year again for me to ponder my age again... on the 11th this month I'll be turning 35, which means I have to start rounding up to being closer to 40 then to 30... Oh, I felt like making jokes about midlife crisis and stuff but then I noticed that I made exactly the same jokes last year. Whoops. I guess I'm getting forgetful in my old age :-P
Any big updates during the last year? Hm... Still the same job, still no wife or kids and stuff, still the same car, still the same flat,... (There's definitely more LEGO in it, though ๐) My dad's sick but so far it's going okay and I'm not the kind of person to let that pull me down.
Oh, just thought of something random to share now that I wrote the a list containing "same job" and "no kids"... I like kids and kids like me and I work in IT which is nice but not very sociable... So I thought I'd look into doing some volunteer work... Not quite unsurprisingly walking into the place that manages volunteers around here as a single 34 year old male with no official qualifications in the childcare sector raises a few eyebrows... And I ended up with nice recommendations of places that needed someone to build their homepages and stuff ๐ I guess I'll stick to playing with/babysitting the kids of my friends and family ๐
On to what you are probably here for, some GAs... Again, nothing fancy cause I'm lazy and cheap, but there should be some technically unbundled stuff in there... The rules are taken from my last few posts...
Just to clarify 'cause multiple people seem to have misunderstood/over-interpreted: The stuff about no family and my job not being social was not meant so say that I'm really looking for a family and blame my job or anything... I like my solitary lifestyle :) It was more related to the stereotypical stuff about getting older means thinking about stuff like that.
And while I it's nice that people praise me for being willing to volunteer, I must confess that I ended up doing nothing cause everything they actually offered felt like actual work and not the playful fun I was hoping for :-P
New update: I broke my laptop screen. Looks like I did something to crack it while it was in the bag. I don't really use it much and it is already quite a few years old but still it sucks. I mainly use it when I spent some time with my parents, that's also why I did not hang around that much this weekend. Everything else still works so I guess I'll just leave it at my parents full time, I pretty much use it only at my old desk there anyway, guess it'll just turn into a mediocre desktop pc :P
