How to know if key has already been used?

So I checked an old humble bundle of mine and I realized I had a mirrors edge I can put on steam gifts. Only thing is is that I'm not sure if the key has been used or not. I checked my profile and I've never gifted it, I even started creating the giveaway and when you put in the key it says "one key found". So does that mean it's an unused key? If not. How do you check/know it's unused key?

You can only check by using it.

no way to check if the keys is already used or not, the only way to check is by redeem it
for humbun, usually i never reveal the keys if i didnt intend to redeem it and make it gift link if i want to giveaway it

No it just states you entered a valid key that will be given once it's done, it does not validate if it's used or not.
