It's likely that the person scammed you were an impersonator. People will often try to make themselves look like a known trader by changing their name & avatar.

Did you double check the steam profiles connected to the rep profile?

I checked and the steam profile was the one that was linked to the steamgifts profile. It was not an impersonator.

It definitely was the same person, not an impersonator. Needless to say they were reported and I left negative rep, but I still lost Elite Dangerous...

I was on a big trip across the US and was visiting Grand Canyon Skywalk, when Bill Murray took my lucky plushie sloth off my backpack and threw it into the Grand Canyon, then he leaned to me and whispered "Nobody will ever believe you". And nobody ever did. Sad to hear you're in the same boat.

I got ripped off by someone with 1000+ positive rep. Since rep really doesn't seem to mean anything, I guess I can no longer trust anyone on this site. Has anyone else had this happen to them?
