Originally I was going to ask for reasons to buy Skyrim since the legendary edition is on sale but I'd rather hear from the people who can tell me why I shouldn't. What did you dislike about the game?

Thanks for all the feedback. Due to Rupti's suggestion I've bought the older games instead.

wait, you now telling me that you don't have it ?? then don't it a time grabbing game, now you will get some mod and try everytthing and you will get 50 + H modding, save some time and don't try it, otherwise it will suck you in and steal all of your time

If you couldn't tell by the other comments it goes like this: it can be fun as heck or boring as sh*t, depends on how picky you are on the many aspects of the game. But doesn't matter what, the games has a ton of mods for you to personalize your experience with it. I personally don't have a problem with the combat (as long as you don't abuse blacksmithing to get the OP armors early on), but I do agree the world becomes a bit boring when you are exploring the same kind o dungeon for the 10th time.

Combat is just atrocious and no mods will utterly fix it. There are also problems with scaling - should you do some side missions, the main one may become tedious or easy and frankly plot isn't really engaging. Moreover, after reaching high level the whole game is overly simple even on the hardest difficulty. Also, it hasn't got replay value, as nothing in the game has encouraged to play it once mainly due to the combat. Nevertheless, it is worth buying, unless combat is the main priority for you.

^this one too. I've never gone further than level 40 as far as I remember.. I just restart the whole game playing as another character. Whole point of Skyrim is to play the way you want, in your imaginary way. 1 game you'll be mage, second one druid, sometimes warrior, archer, or just a regular guy.. you gotta mix stuff up to get joy out of the game.

At the beginning I thought about replaying, but then I became tired of Skyrim or mainly its combat combat system. Were there meaningfully choices, surely I would play it once more, but just for a different built? Nah.

Well, I don't know.. I were always installing different quest mods and stuff like that, so that is what has kept me playing the game.. Main quests and side quests are boring as fuck. Only dark brotherhood is kinda interesting, and maybe thieves guild, but it is buggy even with Unofficial Patches..

The game is boring as hell.
A game that is playable only thanks to mods, says a lot about the quality of the game(Some mods are a must otherwise the game is buggy).

First thing I heard from friends when I got Skyrim was to get certain mods because the game is unplayable without them. Some balancing mods or stuff like that.

2 more reasons:
-The game has been cheaper before
-There is going to be released another The Elder Scrolls probably next year

because for its price you can buy some 4hours long terrible game instead. get that, not a game which takes 100hours to finish (with sidequests+DLC and some exploring) and has replayable value:-D

I needed 151 hours of playing just for the base game. I liked it though.

When I got my "gaming" laptop, I installed Skyrim on it and left it there. I didn't play it at all for a couple months. Then I tried it out and immediately wasted 2 weeks of my life on it. Then I stopped playing. Then, a couple months later, I wasted another 2 weeks. I keep doing that for about 3 years now...
Don't play it unless you are student at somewhere BEFORE college, or you're gonna LITERALLY waste your life.

Because you should buy Legendary Edition, not just regular Skyrim. Dawnguard and Dragonborn add a lot of content.

You shouldn't.
The fact that it was made by Bethesda already says a lot.

And also the game is really boring, the world is bland, and the only way to make the game a bit enjoyable is apparently with mods.

I have tried Skyrim about 4 times now, and just can't get into it, as there is pretty much nothing in the game that makes you wanna continue playing.

TLDR Don't waste your time, there are better games out there that should be played.

My biggest dislike with Skyrim is that the questing isn't as good as in Oblivion or Morrowind.

I still greatly enjoyed the game though.

I disliked Bethesda greedy behavior (paid mods, dlcs as expensive as the legendary edition etc), boring story, shallow and uninteresting characters, mediocre graphics( especially the really bad lighting system that cant be fixed even with mods) and bugs. I liked mods, immersive world, atmosphere and soundtrack.
