If you dont buy from steam that price isnt that impressive, its been this price in many places almost since release. If you are low on cash dont throw it at this offer.

If you already got it for PS3 I don't think you should get for steam also , even for 5$

I think that the consoles version is actually better than PC because you can play split screen ( Don't think you can in PC without using some program ) , so if you don't have someone to play with him on PC in dead island , you don't need this extra copy :3

Thanks for the info. I usually get a notification when a game on my Wishlist is on sale but I never saw this one. Got Riptide and both DLC's now. I got GOTY during the Raptr giveaway so my collection is complete and I can go and kill some more zombies!

Bought the first one a long time ago to play with some friends. Turns out I'm one of the guys whom the game crashes every 5 minutes on coop.
After a long night og research, we found a way to make my game last 1 hour before it crashes. It worked 2 times, then again 5 minutes periods.
It's a nice game on coop - if you're lucky enough to play it on coop -, but it's really repetitive on single player. Pretty much like Borderlands, but on a larger scale.
Oh, and the Ryder White DLC is not worth it. Unless you want to know some backstory, it's pretty much the Operation Anchorage of Dead Island.

I had also some crashes but maybe one or two times in 3~4 hours.

So it was playable with friends on co-op , and the game kinda saved automaticly so we just resumed from where we crashed

Dead Island was the most technically incompetent game I've ever played. I hated almost everything about it, but I still somehow managed to put around 80 hours into it. I guess that says something about how fun the gameplay was at its core.

I had a great time playing co-op on 360 with my brother. Its kind of boring single-player, much like Borderlands, but its a blast co-op.

Personally even at that price I'd still wait for an Amazon/GMG sale. I would expect to see it for under a tenner before long.

As in my original post, the NZ prices are just another example of scurrilous price gouging, and they can take a running jump with a triple pike into a giant pit full of dog-eggs as far as I'm concerned.

Alas, we're used to getting boned on regional pricing in these parts...

Even if I had the cash kicking around, I'd rather wait for an Amazon or GMG sale (neither of whom show the same sort of enthusiasm to stick it to Oceania) rather than roll the dice with a trader. Chances are it'll be available for less than $10 soon enough, and I'm in no hurry :)
