Well, i'm panicked right now, since yesterday i received two e-mails from EA regarding about new password request and a removed e-mail from my account.

I'm trying to change password but i don't receive any e-mail, so i guess they removed my one from the account.

Okay, i moved into support but hey... They just told me to call them but only from monday to friday. What the hell? EA, seriously? Should i wait to be able to retrive my account back?

Well, i've also found a russian forum where a guy posted a huge list of accounts details, and i've seen mine... :(

And with that list, were you able to log into your account and change everything back?

Edit:
Oh, i've started to insult those guys on the forum, they warned me for flame. It makes me laugh that a community of piece of **** pretends to be clean.

It's also a good practice to change a password every so often. Some people do it every month, but I suggest you at least think about it once a year.

But how do you remember all the passwords then? :@

Woh, i installed it right now but i'm already becoming confused by all the addons you can install... Some of them seem cool but also not so user-friendly, so meh.

I use a specific method when I make them up. There's some variation, but I can usually remember the password within a few tries if I forget it. If I can remember the site and the period in which I made the password, I can find it, again. If it has been so long that I don't remember, then it was time to change it, anyway.

It's kinda thing i do too but meh, most of the times i change password only because i forgot it not for security purpose.

Man, i'm surfing on web since when i was 14 and now i'm 26. 12 years of accounts, e-mails, passwords and security answers/questions... I think they could be already hacked half of my digital scrap around the world and i didn't even know about.

After all i care about most important websites/platforms/or so. For the rest i can take the risk to use a weak password.

I mean when i'm sure about Facebook, Steam, E-mails, Amazon i'm fine. Also because if you keep safe your Google account you are okay with Youtube, Android/smartphone account, and so on.

Turn off? Why?

Well... Also for me it's not really a big loss, since 3/4 of the games i have there are also on Steam but... It's just a matter of principle.

I had the same thing happening to me a while ago. 3 minutes after their support closed over the weekend.
I waited and called them at monday. Got resolved on the phone, but took the support guy about 45 minutes.

Gosh... I don't wanna think about their support keeping me at phone for so long, but okay... Instead of leaving my account to those hearthless people.

What surprise me tho, it's that they tried to steal also my Netflix account but oh noes Netflix has a better security system than EA a big and now not so young multinational of videogames. I mean... They seen someone from Russia was trying to log in and thought "Mmh, that's strange, it's better to lock the account and send an e-mail to the owner!" and okay good job Netflix! But that's what happened on the EA side: "Oh, someone is logging from Russia even if the owner lives in Italy. Oh, the new logged in person is changing passowrd. Oh, the new guy is changing e-mail. Oh, he is also deleting all the old informations. Welcome back Nekrux!"

yeah, I was like "excuse me, but don't you believe me I didn't move to indonesia and changed my name into 1234567098765" (literally! it was a string of numbers)

but yeah, their support member had me on hold after every sentence. And after 45 minutes my account was restored AND HE STARTED ADVERTISING THEIR FORUM TO MEET OTHER FANS AND DISCUSS THEIR AWEOSME GAMES NO THX NOT RIGHT NOW

Never use the same password for other sites as if one gets leaked they will try all well-knowing places with said e-mail and password.Though if a site has 2 step authorization step always use that on accounts you don't want to get compromised.

Bad to hear that. I hope you get your acc. back.

I have everywhere other Passworts, use 3 mailboxes and much fake mailboxes.
2 step Auth. helps too^^. Sometimes a password change each ~ 6 Mon. too (i don't make this on all sites only on a few).
Only my Masafor Name i use nearly at each site (not from interest if it is a game site, a pron site or whatever).

Each one that get 1 password from me can try to use it at any other site :DDD

So normal internet/security paranoia helps :DDD

I had years ago one from London that want take my ebay account. Bad for him that i know to this time people that are very well experienced and not so nice to black hats (white/grey and black are not very close^^). His equipment was infected and surely was it a high loose, in €, for him :D

Well... I've almost protected all my accounts but as i said before if it's an old account that i don't use often and at the time i've created it there wasn't any two step authentication...

Also there, they spam you with hundred of promotions but an e-mail informing about the new safe 2FA? No man.

Had my account hijacked too... hacker/hijacker wasn't too smart though, and didn't unlink my email address apparently. I went back to the "register confirmation" email, clicked the link, changed the password. I got lucky.

What kind of web-security autism is this? Why would the mail be changed without confirmation on your old mail ...
unless their other safety measures circumvent that somehow e.g.: safety question "r u iz dog or iz cat" > "iz cat".
Better check out if your mail account isn't compromised ...

Try logging in with you old password. If your old password still works your account most likely wasn't part of the leak.
Change your password anyway just in case your account was part of the leak but nobody tried to steal it yet.

And no, you probably wouldn't be informed by EA about this, at least not anytime soon. Most companies try to keep stuff like this quiet that's why we often hear about hacks in the news that happened 5 years ago.

I suggest you to try to login and change password anyway. Plus turn on the two steps authentication.

I got an e-mail from EA only after one of the guys changed my password and my e-mail, but going deeply i came up at seeing they joined and played with my account already one month ago or so, removed and blocked all my friendlist, hidden almost all games except Plants VS Zombies and Battlefield 3 (But they played and got achievements only on PVSZ.)...

I did turn on 2FA anyhow just to avoid the hassle.
