A suggestion to reduce impersonation scam I think it could be done by adding status box to display for anyone who views your SG profile, even if only reputation is linked, once an impersonator was caught or seen and the real person noticed it, he could add a message in his profile, so the scammers won't be able to link the profile without making the person they link to, see that message.

So ppl could write something in the status box like "my profile is being impersonated be careful", and this also could be used as normal feature, to write status like "I love cookies", "I'm French", "what are you doing in my swamp?",

Also this could have some restrictions like not being able to add links to it, to avoid malicious/unwanted links.

Impersonators generally change who they impersonate all the time, so the person who is being impersonated won't have time to add it to his or her profile before the impersonator has moved on.

You could do the same thing on your Steam profile (at least I've seen a lot of traders doing so), but sure one more way to be alerted is never bad

but for that a person needs to click the link, i don't really know if they click it or just see the rep and that's all. I guess depends on each person.

Well it sure does. I by no means am against your suggestion, on the other hand it would be a great feature to have.
We should just take into consideration the work that is required to implement this and if it is worth it (I have absolutely no idea how much it required :D )

I once had a Canadian user impersonate me and people were thinking I was some really nice guy and not a complete asshole. It took a while to make everyone hate me again. So there is hope if you find yourself impersonated! :D

Seriously though, the reason impersonations happen is because the victims don't bother verifying anything. So I can't see a permanent solution for it yet that doesn't involve making people aware that it actually happens and that it's a problem. Otherwise they'll just easily fall for it anyway.
