i really loved dishonored
but my game i was hyped for that turned out to be a disappointing turd? max payne 3. i LOVED the first two games, but almost everything that made those games great, was lost in the developer change to rockderp. the story was heavy handed and rubbish, characters poor - even max wasn't as engaging or interesting as he was in the past.... surprisingly good port from rockstar though for ONCE, and the gameplay and graphics were great... but everything i love most about the franchise was gone.

I might have to go with Alan Wake. I was really hyped about it, and it started out great - like playing a Stephen King novel. But then it just turned into a painful grind through endless waves of the same few enemy types while fighting with bad mechanics. I ended up cheating my way through the last couple hours and even though I liked the story, overall I was pretty disappointed with the game.

Dishonored is probably the best stealth based game of recent times.
Pre ordered Batman Arkham Knight, can't play. At least the pre order bonus was awesome, 3 dlcs and official t shirt.

I actually don't remember the last time I was really disappointed with a game. I don't normally get myself hyped for many games, and I tend not to get them until they've been out for at least a year, so any release hype has long been replaced by more realistic analysis. By that point, I usually end up agreeing with most of the consensus for the bigger releases (although I also end up enjoying games with marginal review scores more than others).
I suppose the last time I heard a game was really something special and I didn't really enjoy it was Bioshock. The initial impact of the atmosphere was pretty great, but that bubble gum loses its flavor really quickly, and you're left with a very repetitive shooter with fragments of a story.

Well... I love Dishonored, so to answer your "What's your DISHONORED game?" question, I should answer with a list of games I love :P

Disappointed? DISAPPOINTED?! Dishonored was an absolutely great experience and I am so hyped for the sequel. I will ignore the actual question of this thread until you change your example >:{D.

Dragon Age Inquisition. I was told that it has "tactical combat" like in Origins. Man, I was such an idiot.

The DISHONERED Scenario - A game you were hyped to play. Ended finishing the game but felt very disappointed - betrayed by expectations. You look back into the hours you spent playing and simply felt pity to your past self.
A sequel is now rumored/ officially announced. You tell yourself, "I might as well give it another chance."
