I did not intend to judge people on this website and I apologize if my post was unreasonable. Please do not take it personally if I declined your request.

For me, the quality of games is less important than actually giving active SG users a better chance of winning a game.
I wanted to start a discussion about the reasons why SG users play games.

After reading Gothemasticator's comment, I made this poll. If more than 50% choose yes, I will close it.
Note - Looks like I will continue the WL. Thanks for your feedback.

FYI- I was bullied when I was in elementary school, so I felt a need to explain my thoughts and did not want to be insensitive. I will edit my rules to be more clear.

Should I close my WL discussion Post?

Word of advice for you - Don't take everything anyone says on this website at heart, or you'll have a bad time. Ignore people complaining about your threads unless the majority also complaint about it - One person's opinion is not everyone's, and you can't please everyone in any case. If you were to ask users if you should close your thread every time one person posts something negative about it, you'd be creating a thread for every thread. :P

The majority doesn't define the truth. At some point in history, the majority thought the Earth was flat and the Sun was circling around it.
That being said, yeah nothing wrong with your thread, you can do whatever you want with your WL or BL ^^ (and actually this kind of recruitment thread with an essay question isn't that rare)

The majority doesn't define the truth. At some point in history, the majority thought the Earth was flat and the Sun was circling around it.

I'm with you on this 95%, but please allow me to open a slight divergence.

I agree that the majority doesn't define the factual truth, but this isn't a matter of factual truth, but of socially acceptable behavior, and, generally speaking (with countless exceptions), the majority does tend to define the standards on that. While those standards aren't necessarily correct for everyone, they do greatly influence human behavior. Of course, sometimes the majority can define extremely poor standards, so I still agree that the majority being against something isn't necessarily an indication that it's bad -- it's just an indication that it might be bad and perhaps one ought to reevaluate whether to proceed.

I agree that the majority does not consistently make the best/good decisions. Electing politicians/officials and passing laws are examples.

In hindsight, electing xx president was beneficial to you. Some issues could be their agendas may change, they received pressure from xx group, or they are seeking re-election and need support from a undecided/separate group.

Yeah I agree, that's not really a divergence IMO, it's more like, going more into details ^^

About the majority being an indication that something might be good/bad, I actually studied a theory called "wisdom of the crowd" a while back. It stated that a crowd could be so good as to beat any individual, even "experts". But it exposed a few critical preconditions that are not met in today's "age of information". Notably, all persons must have independent information sources and thinking, which is completely the opposite of "everyone's chatting on Facebook while reading the FB-curated news".

On a side note, we're in self-proclaimed civilized societies, but the majority still bullies the minorities on a more than regular basis (not speaking about the minorities SJW pester us all day long about, just any kind minority).
Sometimes with reason (like, society putting murderers in jail, hard to argue with that, although the death penalty is already a debate on how far this kind of "bullying" can go), sometimes, well, like this: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-facebook-india-whatsapp-fake-news/when-a-text-can-trigger-a-lynching-whatsapp-struggles-with-incendiary-messages-in-india-idUSKBN1JL0OW

On another side note, I wonder what proportion of the people who voted "Yes" did it for trolling and what proportion really meant it ^^

I didn't imply that the majority's opinion was correct, but mostly that in an online community, if the majority disagrees with you, you might as well close the thread before things get out of hand and turn into an ugly argument. Or not. You can do whatever you want as long as it doesn't break any website guidelines.

Well the majority can also just respectfully disagree ^^

.... okay, that's wishful thinking 👀

There's nothing wrong with your thread. That comment by Goth is a load of bull tbh. It's your whitelist and you can decide who and why people go on there. The fact you're new here or what games you have given away previously is not a valid reason to invalidate your thread or your WL criteria.
What next? Only white dudes allowed to do Whitelist threads?
Edit: Stick to your criteria and don't feel obliged to lower them or feel guilty just because someone was salty.

He's entitled to his opinion, but you shouldn't feel pressured to do anything just because his opinion differs from yours. There is nothing wrong with your thread.

If anyone criticizes you for giving something away for free, they're being ungrateful and you should ignore them.

Things are a little tight for me but i still believe that giving even the dollar bundles count. Yes i have won good games and the reason i keep giving some of the bundles are because i dont think i must only take. Some people come to this site for the free stuff only. I give back something every time i can. I dont find it wrong.
Your whitelist though is yours to command. That means that if you have rules for people to follow for your whitelist, guess what, they have to follow them even if it is you have to be 3 years on the site and havent win any game.
Remember. The internet is a nasty place. Even if you judge me wrong, or many people blacklist me because i give dollar bundles i still dont care. This is what i have, this is what i can give. I will still sleep at night XD
Have fun and dont give a damn about people. Most of them will always try to bring you down.
/edits: I can not command the English language...

It seemed to me more like he was more asking about why anyone should bother with answering than directly criticizing the thread, to be honest. The way I see it, he seemed to imply that no relevant advantage would come out of being whitelisted by you. And he's entitled to think that way, and he can say it if he wants to, and people might decide to whitelist or blacklist him over it. As others have said before me, your lists are yours to use the way you see fit -- that's just how it works around these parts. :)

BTW, you didn't reply to me in the thread; was it by accident? I still feel I don't pass the ratio requirement (about 0.3), but I'm curious know what you think about the experience I shared, you see. ;)
