Shovelware.

what does this mean ?

Shovelware is derogatory computer jargon for software bundles noted more for the quantity of what is included than for the quality or usefulness

The metaphor implies that the creators showed little care for the quality of the original software, as if the new compilation or version had been created by indiscriminately adding titles "by the shovel" in the same way someone would shovel bulk material into a pile. The term "shovelware" is coined by semantic analogy to phrases like shareware and freeware, which describe methods of software distribution.

Ps. sorry for the Wikipedia copy but at least it makes clear what Shovelware means ^^

Short version: "I want to call your game shit, but I'm not quite gutsy enough to say that outright."
Alternative version: "Some individuals just never have anything constructive or nice to say."

Speaking of constructive comments, let me note that you should be extremely careful with acquiring a publisher. If you don't actually need the publisher to help finance your production costs, you may end up losing more than you gain. In a worse scenario, you may end up getting screwed over by the publisher. No matter how "shovel" your game may or may not be, licensing away some of your rights to the game should be a carefully considered decision, not something you feel you need to rush into because it's "normal".

Ok,his game is shit. Happy?

I just felt like 'Shovelware' is way more descriptive than 'shit' . Also he learned a new word - win for everyone.

There is absolutely no gameplay so how can i tell you what you should change if i dont see a bit of game? It looks like cheap wannabe gangsta rap need for speed ripoff made for 12y/o with graphics from early 90's and has no point or reason to be made.. That's the feel the trailer gives.

Yes i missed this one. Just watched the 'teaser'. Still looks like bad NFS underground . Underground was released 14 years ago.

If you dont have people and budget use creativity . Simple but stylish graphics, bizarre but interesting story and all around inovative game. This looks like it was made 15 years ago in a basement. Steam is full of crap like this.

You don't need a company, but it might be better for tax and other purposes, depending on where you live. As far as I understood the process, you have to apply and sign the papers (your/company info, bank info, tax info) and afterwards you sign the steam distribution agreement and pay for app id and are free to continue with adding your game to the steamworks, adding features (leaderboards, achievements and so on).

You are legally and otherwise responsible for whatever you sign, though. It's not a game, it's business. Take it seriously.

then its better for me to find a publisher right ?

Depends on what you want to do I imagine. Personally I wouldn't.

Doesn't have to be. Some "publishers" will just take 70% of your earnings and in exchange... send bunch of free keys to journalists... which is something you can do yourself.

My advice for you would be this - have something worth showing to the people, at least 2 tracks and physics/driving mechanics, some temp menus to make it all work, basic settings. Compile and build it. Put it on itch.io (set as demo so it can be downloaded for free, even if you put a price on the game), enable comments, post link to reddit (there are subreddits for "play my game and comment") and here and everywhere... start an indiedb page too, put the same demo there... collect opinions based on the demo/prototype, ask people specific questions, fix and improve, repeat.

Once you're ready, have like 10 really good polished tracks and are happy with physics and graphics and sound effects... designate it "early access" and set some price (I'd suggest looking into competition on itch/steam/humblebundle store) and then press forward bringing it to steam (but continue updating the game, push for more polish and improvements, nice sountrack and so on).

NFS2 / NFS2 se had like 7 tracks and 7 cars, no story at all but was fun as hell (specially in split screen) because it had great tracks which increased difficulty slowly, brought different terrains, long straights and tight curves, distractions and stuff... but also great electronic music.

It's "old fashioned" by today's standards, but take things realistically and realize you can't make Underground 3 all by yourself... But you can make 7 "underground 1" tracks that work really well and can be selected from the menu...

I'm not trying to keep you down, just saying, know what you can pull off well, before you rush into something you'll never finish or it will be really... lousy if ever finished.

Just please... no 1000 achievements and other silly stuff once you finish the game and release it.

Also, this is what I was talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHNdRC0ehmQ
You seem to like town environment more, but even in town you don't have to race through the same street over and over again. Track can go over bridge, through the park, market street with destructible stands, to the wide avenue and then through the tight curving streets and so on...

The form you need to fill is this: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw8ben.pdf

So whatever is in that, bank info is needed. (for individuals).

All that you need is bank and tax information as well as identity verification.

That's a promising start. It has that old-school feel from the older NFS games.

Just make sure to add some interesting race types and/or story line to the game, otherwise it will just get lost in a sea of racing games.

As far as I understand, you don' t need a company to publish with Steam direct, but make sure you understand how the legal side works in your country for taxes and other things. Sometimes it's best to sit with a lawyer or some other professional who can help you set up the business side before you jump in. It will save you a lot of headaches down the road.
