I don't understand what's going on at all on the first screenshot. Are vertical resolutions a thing in PC gaming now?
Regarding the second screenshot, I don't like that blue-ish hue but I'm kinda interested in that "comics" tab ("TV" tab can go fuck itself though).

Placement_Guide.png is the name of that file
I don't really know what's going on on the vertical image, it may be the page of the game that you see when you click on it, see that it has achievements and users playing

To me leaking these images in the beta client seems more like a legit accident from someone tasked with coming up with Steam UI prototypes (or something) than it does a Vavle teasing an upcoming update. Would be nice with an overhaul of the UI but I'm not holding my breath for it anytime soon.
