One of the groups I liked released a new song and I'm curious what non-fans think of it. Maybe you can check it out and give me your thoughts on it?

Just leave your thoughts on the song/video below, don't be a huge leech and that's it!

Do you like listening to songs in languages you don't understand?

Yes, music is music regardless of language!
No, I like to understand what's being said.
I don't care as long as it sounds nice.
Potato? Kartoffel? Krumpir? Patata?

May I join? ^_^
It's not my type of music, I prefer rock and metal, so it's so far of my type :P

Sure! :) And me too actually, but they're about as rock/metal as kpop will get so I kinda grew to like them.

I'm very familiar with K-Pop. I was once an admin of a very popular anime forum. People were always trying to influence me with K-Pop/J-Pop kinda stuff, but I never liked any of it. It's always felt like manufactured pop. Beautiful men and women singing songs without any real emotion/feeling. They can sing, but none of them were anything special.

These girls are still manufactured pop, BUT... the song (well...tune since I don't understand it) is actually really good. The fact that I didn't switch it off after 30 seconds is a good thing because I usually do. XD.

Ah an expert then! (kinda lol)
Yeah I grew tired of kpop years ago but these girls are worth sticking to since they have their style and never changed it (even when they didn't do so good on charts) so I like their spirit and sticking true to to genre they enjoy making.
Glad you somewhat enjoyed it then :p

ROFL! I wouldn't say that I am any kind of expert. I just never took an interest in it, so I couldn't name almost any of those groups if I'm honest. Hehe!

Well, i don't care about language in general (actually one of my most favorite music is Japenese (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNplZrRSjeI)

But i can't say i liked this since i don't like pop music in all languages :D

I love the clip tho, probably because of the white-red theme.

+10 This is a great find. Bookmarked. I recently really enjoy the OP and ED soundtracks of Fairy Tail - Final Season. I wonder if you've heard one of the most iconic songs in Japan. Do As Infinity / Yesterday & Today Like Kpop, I usually pick up songs from Anime and JDramas, however, I've not watched much Anime variations(Fairy Tail and One Piece) nor any JDramas for awhile. If you've heard of Yesterday & Today, did you like it? :)

Ok i couldn't resist, 2 more --> https://youtu.be/2SM_A6Wmx2I and https://youtu.be/C02WOL9lLx8

I know they are kind of sad songs but not for me. I just feel calm while listening to them, i hope you can enjoy them too :D

I don't want to make list any longer, bye :D

I actually wanted to recommend the 1st song but its 7mins+ long so avoided it. I also had 2nd song bookmarked together with Evangelion's "Fly me to the moon". I bookmarked the next 3 recommendations you made. The last one was too sad perhaps and not trigger my fancy much.

Know what I like about music threads? Most of the time I reply, I ended up listening to songs and my songlist too which I spent the whole day and forget about replying. :D

Here's a song I actually came across when listening to recommendations. MONDO GROSSO. Here's another JPop classic you might enjoy MISIA - Everything. Here's couple of songs I came across you might enjoy, Joe Hisaishi - Summer and Sakura Cheers~

It's a song that I enjoy that has pop and rock elements that happens to be sung in Korean, yes. If you wanna brand every Korean song as kpop then go for it :p

Hmm sounds like some of those alt punk bands that lost their flair and turned to studio editing. Not saying it as a bad thing just comparing it to something I find familiar since I'm not a big fan of the style of music.
Yeah whitelist and all that

Honestly I'll take that as a compliment since they went from pop into rock-ish vibes instead of vice versa so I guess it's a positive thing in that case? Heh, thanks for checking them out!

There subs accompanying most KPop songs nowadays which is available in this too. Alternatively, you can search for Romanized version of the song which are fan made. If you want to understand the language itself then its up to your own efforts. Cheers~

Yeah as mentioned, a lot of videos have subs nowadays and if not then translations are out there probably on the first google search too.

I actually not heard of this group even though I actively watch Running Man, Mum's Diary, Korean Dramas. I have to say though I usually walk away during singing programs as a washrm break. I've not been excited by a Kpop song for awhile. T-ara has the most songs I enjoy. At times I take time to search for Kpop on my own just not recently since my PC slowed. I thought at first its going to be Twice when I read others comments. Best wishes in promoting your liked group. Cheers, Cruse~

I love Running Man! :D And T-ara was so good. I actually haven't been into kpop for years myself but Dreamcatcher is the only group I care about since they're not "selling out" to usual concepts to make money but stuck with their rock vibes since day 1 and keep doing so regardless. It's refreshing to see in the kpop world today.
Thanks for the kind wishes :)

I respect that though I cant really get into it. They remind me of Rania, a group introduced to me years back. In a way T-ara and Wonder girls were going the Retro trend. I am kind of sad T-ara disbanded as I enjoy the Retro-Pop. AoA did a few songs like "Moya", "Elvis" and "Get Out" which are pretty Rock Chic, sadly as far as I know thats about it. :)

Edit: Actually looking at Rock and girls group. I recall JPop Scandal. Also Stephanie and LiSA LiSA's songs are pretty similar so not knowing Japanese fluently the songs have a good ring in them. 3 songs by Aya Hirano for Suzumiya Haruhi the anime are my likes too. YUI is nice too. :D

sounds okish. simple lyrics. repeating. basic pop song without much thought. generic k-pop girls? beautiful but zero talent. :D
making a catchy song is easy. but i dont expect much from pop songs as long as it sounds good.

Hm, I'd disagree on this one. I feel like the sound mixing/arrangement is done pretty well in this case. And maybe I'm defensive cause I know of their other songs that maybe gave them a chance to show their singing/dancing talents more than this one.
But true, pop is mainly about just being catchy after all. Thanks for checking them out :)

Really not my style of music. I'm more into rock with some mild metal thrown in. Even then, I rarely listen to music and never to music that I don't understand the lyrics (with the exception of occasionally Ramstein).

Me too actually, but seeing how my favorite band is Eluveitie (who sing in ancient Gaulish mostly) I don't think I qualify in the "i like understanding the lyrics" category heh. But I like this group cause I feel it's the most rock a pop group can get while still being pop.
Anyways, thanks for checking them out :)

Pil lil lil lil il ly, its catchy but I don't care for the part around 1:40 where it becomes rap. I guess it helps that I think a lot of asian women are pretty hot as well :).

I'm not usually a fan of K-pop, but this was nice. It kinda reminded me of some oldish (90s-early 00s) anime themes in how it's pop with bits of rock elements for "epicness" while not quite being pop rock. I could do without the "Obligatory Rap Section", but it wasn't a killer.

I'm an old soul that really does not gravitate towards K-Pop or anything equally hyper-manufactured. The packaging is very pretty, but the content is bland and destined to be forgotten. I'm not even sure we can call this music anymore - More like audible Sex appeal.

But that's just my own point of view. Oh also... I'm not leechy πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Edit: Saw u talked about Eluveitie above. Maybe you'll enyoy this too.

And thank you for the recommendation! I gave it a listen, I do like some of the song, sadly I'm not too big of a fan of symphonic vocals in metal, but I do enjoy the music itself though :)

Hi ConquerrorCode, the video itself is pretty appealing to me, I like the aesthetics of mixing traditional and classy elements with a modern and abstract touch. But I'm so sorry, the music is just horrible. :D Not the singing but the shrill arrangements, tho the asian girls are really cute.
I'm more into progressive rock/metal and electronica stuff, so I'm not good at judging this kind of music, despite being a fan of Asia in general. One dream of mine is having an extended holiday in Japan.

I feel this is wrong. You are comparing 2 different genre instead of comparing JPop with KPop but I also feel both pops have their merits. Oddly enough, I had came across a Korean Rock Band singing a Japanese song. Cherry Filter - Pianissimo I say its pretty good. :)

For some reason it reminded me of this song i have heard in an intro while watching some korean league of legends championship a while back, which i like.

I generally appreciate music. Lyrics is another thing but for me music takes precedence and therefore I am one who appreciates music in any language.
That being said, I listened to the song, and I put captions on to get a general meaning of the song (that's what I usually do if captions are available), I was not able to appreciate the song for its music or lyrics. Did like the video though 😈

Language never really comes into my thinking for music, though I do really enjoy when bands will use more than one language of do different versions of songs in different ones.
This song though ain't for me, it's got a pretty solid catchy beat, but the vocals are in that lol tone I'm not a fan of
