Just google for iso installer of the game like the SKIDROW version which has the main installer and patch 1.01 inside, once you install it from ISO file and patch the game to version 1.01, then launch your uplay, and you see an UPDATE button instead of Download button, click on it and uplay downloads a little bit, then the game launches with EN language, I just tried it and it worked perfectly! just DON'T download anything from uplay if you want to play it with EN language and interface.

yup easy as cake :) no need to download anything from uplay client, it's kinda like what you do with unlocked files for steam, uplay or origin :) and uplay client recognize the game itself.

for those who cant get the game i would like to post this
Just download IPFuck for Chrome, tick x-Forwarded for, client-ip and via and then in the IP List tab paste 110.77.0.10 and clicked save and apply. Relaunch the Ubisoft giveaway site https://free.ubisoft.com/promotions/Assassins_Creed_2/19/pc/ and immediately collect the game

Well i just noticed the badges and club challenges will not trigger this way, so you will just get to play the game with English UI somehow:)
Edit: Just Downloaded the whole Chinese version and still challenges does not work :)

Actually there are only 3 files responsible for UI and subtitles language. Found it by experimenting with game files from SKIDROW.
Download the game normally via Uplay and then extract overwrite the files in this archive: http://www.mediafire.com/file/35sp27y4fcb08co/Assassin%27s_Creed_II.rar
You should have the game in English now with option also for Italian in the menu.
Just don't ever hit the " Verify files" button. It will restore the Chinese version.

Well, I can totally get why they didn't go through with releasing this event outside of China.
I mean, it can be tricky converting one culture's celebrations into the framework of another culture.

Understandable. Though on that topic (and putting aside the more obviously troubling element of it), I just don't get why anyone'd drag lychees into something like that. Then again, gauging off my thoroughly unpleasant, singular, canned experience with lychees, I'm not sure why anyone'd drag them into much of anything. So perhaps it's a festival celebrating indulging in abominable things.
(Apparently canning removes a lot of the flavor, though, so if I can ever get a hold of a fresh one, I'll have to see if my impression is any better. Still, strikes me as an odd thing to include so prominently in a festival with that kind of theme.)

Over here many asian restaurants give you a complimentary lychee dessert when you eat there. Pretty sure those are canned too considering with how much of their own juice they come. They're a bit overly sweet in my taste (I don't like Baklava neither) but I guess I can eat them (and I usually do when I eat out, asian). Mind the comma. I think in this case it drastically changes the meaning of the sentence :D

I don't think any of the games are region locked per say, but you need a china ip to redeem it, trials I believe worked with english, it is mainly just AC2 where it is in Chinese so unless you know Chinese, you will not be able to play it right, since there is no english or way to change it to any other language.

I guess the thing is, uplay recognizes the game files and then just download the "original" thing for what was "cracked" in the files. Then you have the original game with not exactly the cracked files, just the english version of the game. I didn't test it or anything (nor am I gonna), but I guess that's what happens.

Yeah, that is probably to be expected, and they probably made sure the next two are restricted to the certain language to sort of deter or stop those not from china from redeeming these games.
I think (haven't really played it?) trials fusion when it was free, wasn't restricted to the chinese language, it was just AC2 and probably the game that we will know what it is tomorrow.
