Hi,

I'm launching a new site in the New Year for winning/earning/buying bundle games. More like TremorGames than SteamGifts

It's very early stages so site functionality is limited and there are bugs. But I'm only looking for a small number of people so chances of winning something is high.

I'm looking for anyone interested in being involved in the creation of the website. Your suggestions will help form the final product.

If you are interested you can add me on Steam or register at the website www.bitofsteam.com

Let me know if you have questions. After I've got a few volunteers I'll close the thread.

Update
It's been going well. I've given out over 2 Million in site credit so far. Thanks for all your feedback. I've been making improvements. So I've re-opened the thread as I think the functionality is basically there but I need a bit more volume to check the dynamics are working and people like the idea :).

Don't be afraid to post negative feedback, but try to keep it constructive :)

Update 2

The site economy has had two zero's removed.
A past giveaways page is available to see winners once they have claimed their win.
Alot more games added to the store.

Update 3

Added alot of extra games to the Store (70 games now available)
Given out 40k in site credit.
Over 100k Million spent in the store.
Added 2,600 credit in potential rewards
I'm still loving taking feedback. Alot is in the development pipeline. I will target to Go-Live on Monday.

Update 4

Two Months in now.
Over 200 games in stock
Given out 110k in site credit.
Almost 300k credit spent in the store. For over $4000USD worth of steam games
58 Giveaways claimed

Thanks
Andy

Cool idea. Hope it works out well. I just registered.

"All games in the store are a steam keys and can be bought for huge discounts on the Steam store prices."
I'd suggest either getting rid of the "a" before "steam keys" or changing the sentence to something like below. It isn't entirely clear what you mean by "bought for huge discounts on the Steam store prices" and may be misleading.
"All games in the store are redeemable on Steam via keys and can be bought for huge discounts in the store section."

Thanks Kairuku,

Yeah the wording is a bit funky. I've updated it.

Useful, the new "Site News" part. May I suggest to also add the date&time of the last update? That would help to better understand when it has been implemented what you reported.
There is an error on the last line of the news: "Added compelted giveaways page."
Whilst I think the second line would sound better if you used to hide, instead of to show

Nice to be able to see past giveaways =)
Thanks for paying attetion to our feedback.

P.S: the Buy button appears only on the main page, for the games on sale, but not on the store one.

EDIT: on the FAQ, it would be useful if you added how the winner/buyer will receive his won/bought game.

Sirius Online has cards to collect, now, even if it's not reported on the steam page(from just a couple of days, I think; I started Idle Master as always and it farmed them).

There doesn't seem to be any clear way to reach the Superrewards page, except for the link on the Site News.

There seem to be a bug with the progress of the "Have a real go" reward: I entered a few giveaways, but it keep showing "0 out of 25"

Now the shop look better, with all the necessary informations easy-to-find =)

It would be useful to be able to access to old "Site News", like a log, instead of just seeing the last three. If I've not been around for a while, I would find useful to be able to check what happened from my last visit.

P.S: how can I reach the Superrewards page? Before I used the link on the Site News, but now that is gone, I'm unable to find a link to that earning page...or did you removed them? EDIT: found a little link on the right side of the main page, but it was not easy to find. I would suggest to add it in the Earn page.

Thanks! I've fixed up the Reward page.

I'll look at changing the site news to something better. I'm also thinking how to add a shoutbox or comment system.

The Superrewards page is kinda hidden on purpose :) It doesn't seem to be tracking very well. If the quality doesn't improve I'll likely ditch it. But any rewards earned will still count.

Have you had any success with the SuperReward offers?

Okay, now it works correctly =)

There are not many free available offers for me(it depends from country to country and I never do the to-pay one), but I tried to complete the task "Welcome to CrowdFlower". For now, no reward. Maybe some problem on the cookie's reading on their side, to confirm the completion of the offer?

Maybe you could try with others like Supersonic, Virool or TokenAds. They abitualy correctly deliver their rewards on Tremor.

EDIT: if it is possible, I would like to propose to be able to sync the site with the wishlist of the steam account and to be able to check if there is any wished game on the store list, without having to check every single products or, if not possible, to implement an inside wishlist, like on Tremor.

I've haven't looked too much into integration with Steam. But definitely on my to investigate list.

I've had limited success testing the superrewards myself also. It's unfortunate as some seem quite good. I've been asking them to investigate but not much is coming back. I'll look into the others you mention.

I'm looking for any group money earning opportunities on the net really. Being able to leverage some micro payments with big steam discounts I think can realise some real value for people.

Maybe it's a problem of conversion? From Superrewards points to Satoshi to finaly your site's credits.
Maybe it would work better if you skipped the first conversion and simply do the Superrewards points => site's credits.

You can check the one used by Tremor. They should be trustable.

I love how the website greatly improved since the first time I saw it. Nice work with your progress!

Thankyou.. I'm very serious on asking for feedback :)

I've spent many years as a developer so it's hard for me to see the big picture sometimes :)

That's a really good thing. Heck, no better feedback than from the audience itself. :)

I'm super-interested! Tbh I have a lot of ideas for such a website and I really wanted to create my own but well... Perhaps I could at least help here? I've added You on Steam, looking forward to talking with You! :)

I won a game! (P.S: thanks for the chance =D)
Good way to show it, with the "Claim your win" in green advise. Easy to see and to discover that you won something =)
I would only suggest, on the "Your games" page, to add the "Mark as Used" button to the giveaway as you did with the purchased one.

The new website icon looks really good; are you going to use it also for the favicon?

How it is going with Superrewards?

For the "support/contact us" side, may I suggest to add a premade form to compile that will be automatically sent to you, once confirmed, without showing your email? That could help you to prevent quite a bit of spam from people/bots who found your email by chance ;)
And to add a direct button at the top, instead of having to go About=>Contact Us=>Email.

EDIT: I tried to use the chat, but it ask me to send the message as Anon or to login...with my "Bit of Steam" account or would I need to make a different one just for the chat?

Congrats. I did see your name popup :).

Superrewards still seem a little sporadic. I'll leave it up for now as some of the rewards seem to pay out reasonable well. I'm working on integrating some different platforms.

Not sure if I'll stick with the chat widget. It's a 3rd party one called chatango so it registers a 2nd account.

The icon is probably a copyright nightmare :P It's all I could think of :).

I don't think there should be any problem with the icon, till it is a little different and you're not trying to impersonate them =)

I think the chat will not be used often, if it'll need an external account(personally, I've already enough accounts to use...without needing to make a new one just to chat). It would be useful if it was possible to integrate it with the inside accounts of the website.

On the About page:
"We are steam store & giveaway site."
Missinig an "a" and maybe the capital for steam.
"We are a Steam store & giveaway site."
And "are available at great discount prices." shouldn't be "are available at great discounted prices."(hope I'm not wrong, it's been a while from the last time I checked an English grammar's book :P)?

EDIT: even if Superrewards it's only temporary, I think you should add it, as way of earning points, on the About page, here: "Site credit can be bought using bitcoins or earned for free by logging in daily, using Bitcoin Faucets or completing offers." or something like this, as you see more appropriate ;)
