Borderlands, Civilization III and Civilization IV will be transitioned over to Steamworks.

Many older games will not be patched including some DS and Wii games.

Yay for Steamworks Borderlands, I'll be able to play without LAN emulation.

Now if only some other stuff from other devs would be fixed.

Possibly same as Bioshock 2. They can add the keys to Steam, so retail disc owners can register their copy online and use Steamworks.

It is very nice from them.
They patched some games that were on GFWL too.
All publishers don't do that.
