Top 5 Free To Play Steam games

I'm curious to know what is your Top 5 Free To Play Steam games, if top 5 too short or too long, you can go for top 3 or top 10. but It would be great if you tell us why is your first choice deserve to be at the top of your list

Here is my Top 5:

  1. Team Fortress 2 (565,738 players recommend this game to their friends) - it got my triple F (Fun, Funny, F...ing Awesome)

  2. PlanetSide 2 (27,889 players recommend this game to their friends)

  3. DC Universe Online (18,636 players recommend this game to their friends)

  4. Age of Empires Online (8,067 players recommend this game to their friends)

  5. Age of Conan: Unchained (839 players recommend this game to their friends)

Its over rated and kinda just like a generic mmo with a lot of grind, just play RO1

I heard RO1 fans are mad about it, even tho this is called "Legend of The Second" because it is a remake of the first fail "Ragnarok Online 2: The Gate of the World". but it's looks like still has no luck.

I never played RO1. I played Runes of Magic a year ago and RO2 reminds me of it and the good times. I like it :)
I'm lvl 23 so far no grinding..

Grinding in RO1 for cards were actually fairly fun, in RO2, its just boring.

I'm more concerned if there is good endgame content in RO2?
In Runes of Magic I had plenty of fun raiding dungeons and farming gear with my guild (+ teamspeak). Is RO2 similar to that?

No idea. I tried Runes of Magic, was pretty fun. RO1 had pretty epic end game stuff, no idea about RO2.

Warframe is alright. The gameplay feels really smooth and the animations are its strongest point.

AoC was the first fully localized mmo, moreover it was very good game with 80% metascore. You just didn't like it.

  3. Shootmania(the demo is kinda like the full version, though technically it doesn't count)

  5. Alien Swarm/Blacklight/Tribes Ascend(I played this less than AS because of my crappy PC but I had a lot of fun)

I really enjoyed blacklight, but it ran like crap with about 5 fps on my PC. Luckily I played it on another PC and had a lot of fun.

I just wish valve would do a better job of integrating them into the platform, i've had horrible problems with both Tribes Ascend and STO on steam, while they work just fine with the non-steam version.

Why would it be too late? From a story perspective LOTRO is better than any other MMO i've ever played, and trust me i've played tons of them over the years. They also did a graphics overhaul a year ago(if i remember right) if that aspect bothers you, imo the game looks great considering how old it is, it aged much better than other old MMOs, WoW comes to mind here. Give it a try, it's free :)

If you don't mind the prospect of a fiar bit of "grinding" in the early levels until you can get yourself a decent boat and equipement (the tutorials take the form of schools you have to graduate from but do give out rather handy boats to get you by) then you'll quite enjoy this little game.

Have been playing for over a month now and only just starting to get into Adventuring after starting off as a Trader and it's not at all bad but then I love games that require a fair bit of grinding to level.

I'm avoiding the PvP element though as it's never appealed to me in any game, but this option is available if you so desire to become a pirate.

Hope you do enjoy it if you get around to giving it a try, it's certainly not the worst game around in my opinion but definately not a fast game in respect of levelling :)
