What is your favourite Final Fantasy game(s), or other game(s) similar to the series?
Ive been in the middle of playing Final Fantasy 6 for so long, but I can't find the time to play it..
I've fully played through Golden Sun which Id say is sort of like Final Fantasy. The main gimmick of the game is that some of your powers can be used outside of battle to solve puzzles.
My favourite RPG in general is EarthBound and its sequal MOTHER 3 is just as good.

Still need to finish Earthbound. I stopped at specific 'dream sequence' part. I didn't grind enough so I couldn't continue, or load an older save. Sigh.

i have played and finished iv,v,vi,tactics,vii,viii,ix,x and also played but didn't finish i,x-2,xii.
my favorite is viii maybe because its the very first i played i don't know.i also really like the summons(GF) and the limit breaks on that one.
i've spent too many hours on final fantasy games as a kid,i haven't played any other game series so much.
i also can't wait for ff vii remake,its the only game i got hyped for ever,i really need a ps4 for that xD

I wish I spent more time as a kid on certain games. I grew up on Playstation, but at the same time I wasn't the type of kid to constantly get new stuff or ask for it, so I missed out on a lot. The best PS2 game I ended up getting was probably Burnout 3 Takedown, or San Andreas if you disregard that my mom saw me beating up random people and proceeded to destroy the disc. Just normal parent stuff, eh?
If I could play all of the FF games right now, I would. They seem like the type of games that I need to take my mind of certain things.

If you are into rpgs and don't care about aged stuff you should try breath of fire 4,legend of dragoon,vagrant story for ps1 and kingdom hearts 1+2,shadow hearts:covenant,dark cloud 2 for ps2

funny. playing 9 myself atm. I only find the big heads weird and the technical issues annoying.
10 was ok but the linear levels bored me at the end.
Tactics had a good story but the camera and random encounters got on my nerve.
6 is still the best, followed by 5
and Chrono Trigger the best Chrono game ;P (ok, havn't played Cross yet)
also have still to play: Dragon Quest & Phantasy Star games

Cross is very different in gameplay and the way they did the story is one complaint of Cross, but it makes perfect sense and actually wraps up by the end (and its Lavos(yes, obviously the boss is Lavos :P) boss is the "prequel" to the special boss from Trigger's DS version(IIRC) or whatever version, so there's that too). It's also just a generally good game overall.

So, I recently binge-played FF9. It was my first, and only, Final Fantasy I've ever played. I'm being honest here when I say it is quite honestly THE best game I've ever played with Chrono Cross at a VERY close second. So, here you go. Hopefully someone else can experience this god damn amazing.
