How to remove a profile background?

I just wanted to try it. Is there a way to select a "no background" option? I don't wanna trade or sell it at the moment...

EDIT: I have already tried to send it to a friend or to the market just for a while, but as it comes back is automatically set up again.

I don't think so. What you can do is trade it to a friend, and then ask him to give it back.

I already tried. Even to put it on the market just for a while. But as soon as it comes back in my inventory is automatically set up. :(

I don't have one anymore so I can't see the options, but if nothing else, I imagine you could probably trade it to a trustworthy friend and then have him give it right back to you. My profile background went back to the default as soon as I traded it away.

Either trade it to a mate or put it on the Steam Market at some ridiculous price then take it off.
