How are you?
Ty bump!
Good luck with the job hunt!
The only tip I can give: if you can, during this time make exercise and sleep a priority. Prioritizing these 2 things might help you in many other surprising ways.

Happy cakeday!
Looking for job is not really easy, so please don't think that no response means you're lacking something.
The one thing I can suggest is to send your CVs to companies that you would like to work for (maybe you like their games or their vibe). Sometimes they'll prefer to contact someone who they already had CV of, rather then putting job ad. It worked for me, but I was looking in different area of work.
As for YT channel, you'll never know if it will work out or not if you won't try. Maybe something like "Game dev reacts to.." and you play a game and give your input from a perspective of a Game Dev? They can be big titles or just new demos.
Wish you luck and sending hugs! <3

Happy cake and good luck on the job/career search. It's not easy finding your way or rather admitting to yourself you may be in the wrong line for you and finding yourself all over again but it's sometimes a necessary step.
I hope you manage and keep your chin up. You only fail when you stop trying

Good luck on the job search. Sometimes it just takes time. I would say be open to another industry for a period. You can always keep looing for jobs after you've taken one, too look for something better.
If you have game ideas and like the youtube thing. I would absolutely give it a go. But keep the job search going as well.

Happy cakeday, I hope your situation improves soon!
About a YouTube channel, take everything I say with a grain of salt, as I don't really understand why the really big channels are so popular... But one mistake I often see is people trying to emulate existing successful channels, which usually doesn't draw me (or other viewers) in, because... there's already a popular channel doing it, with more experience.
If you want to make another Gamemaker's Toolkit oder Design Doc, make sure you have unique things to say that they haven't said already. Development vlogs of a game you program from the ground up are neat, but only keep my interest for a longer period if I have a reason to be interested in you or your game in the first place.
Typically, what I enjoy most in videos is depth; I hate when I watch a video essay of someone rehashing something I could have gotten from skimming a Wikipedia article. You can either do some deep research with a unique perspective, like Daryl Talks Games, or pick a specific niche and really delve into it, like pannenkoek2012 with Super Mario 64 or TheZZAZZGlitch with the old Pokémon games. That may not give you the same reach as with other choices; you'll only attract those that are at least somewhat interested in the topic you chose. But it will ensure that you'll have something fresh to say that can't be found everywhere else yet, and the people that are interested are more likely to stay.
All that is only from my personal perspective of a viewer. I have no insight in how a channel is run, and what challenges await you. I can only wish you the best of luck, whatever your decision may be!

Happy factory day!
Good luck, fellow gamedev. If you decide to start a YouTube channel, I will check it out, but I would definitely put more hours into finding a job than pursuing a YouTube career.

Unfortunately, I've only ever worked as a "normal" software developer, not game dev, so i can't give you much help in that realm. If you were based in the US and had some solid C# skills, I might be able to get you an interview at my company, but if you are in Turkey there's not much I can do, sorry. I know the market is brutal out there for new graduates, so having some years of experience can give you a bit of an edge, but you still might need to apply for entry level jobs just to get back to work. Then after some time there, you can try to transition to a better position elsewhere.

Thank you. Happy Cakeday.
Good luck getting a new job. Things are hard now so I don't really have any advice for you.

Happy cake day!
I'm sorry to hear about your situation, I myself have been unemployed 90% of my life.
The only tip I can give you is to keep trying, keep those CV coming. IDK where are you from, but I'm sure there are other platforms like LinkedIn in your country where you can place your CV as well.
Mostly try to roam forums/discord channels/whatever of your sphere, someone there might know some company is hiring, etc.
Good luck!

Sorry to hear about the tough times Anxeal. It's never great to go without a job; even worse when hours on applications lead to nothing. I know something will come for you soon. Unfortunately, I can't really offer much in job terms. My brother, a close friend, and I are actually starting our own little development team, but we're fortunate in that we all do things full-time (apart from my brother but his part-time is enough to get by). It feels like I have lots of ideas for games as I've got a whole document detailing up to about 40 ideas. But maybe they're really trash lol.
All the best, hope you come right :)

Happy Cakeday!! Well done on getting to level 7, that is quite a feat.
Can only wish you well with the job hunting - that can be really tough. Getting help with applications and some career direction sounds positive, so keep at it. As others have said, it is tough, just keep moving forward towards that job goal.

Hello everyone!
I've been inactive for a long time but I'm back (kinda, sorta). It's my cake day and I'm about to hit level 7 so here's a train to celebrate. You'll find that it's a bit lacking in terms of content because, well, I can't get a job.
The part where I rant (optional)
I got fired once again. Now that I've been through 4 companies in such a short time, I'm having trouble getting hired. I don't even get responses to my applications, it's crazy. I specialize in Game Dev (Unity, C#) + Performance Optimization and I've developed with Rust professionally before (Remote preferred but not a necessity). I'm not looking for a job on this forum, just looking for pointers and maybe where to find a career counselor that fits me, or even how to find and apply to jobs (yeah I'm that miserable). I'm primarily using LinkedIn but it has let me down.
I kinda wanna become a game dev Youtuber but I can't really think of any interesting content and it's very risky without a day job. Let me know what kind of content you'd like to see and I might just do it. Do you prefer educational, entertainment, or anything else? Please let me know down in the comments. Smash like and subscribe and ring the bell and bop it and twist it and pull it
The biggest train link you've ever clicked
Choo choo!
