Blood Bowl 2? Certainly looks like a sporty Greenskin to me at least....

It looks like that because it is! That caped shadow is kind of famous, or so I thought.

Too bad for Fet because besides it being a remake of Rondo it also contained both the original Rondo and SotN so he was ever so close...

I would have guessed the same, but it is not that (or any part of the series)

What an interesting looking game, I have some limited experience handling PC-98 hardware through my work but never have played any actual games on the platform. There's quite a library of visual novels and dating sims as I understand it, but it'd be interesting to dig deeper into the catalog to unearth some unique games like this.

Yeah, never really seen anything like the evolution points system to power up your character constantly throughout the game, being used in almost a puzzle like system where you have to work out how to evolve properly to get to the next area. There seem to be plenty of different games on the PC-98 as it was basically a japanese home computer, but not that many have actually been translated unfortunately it seems

A load may have ended up on the turbografx/PC Engine though as NEC made both.

I'm more familiar with the PC-88 series, but only because most of the big titles there were also ported to the MSX/MSX-2 systems and I used to own MSX machines...
In terms of video game history, the PC-88 and PC-98 series are where T&E Soft's Hydlide and Falcom's Dragon Slayer first came out, starting the Japanese style of action RPG that would bring The Legend of Zelda a few years later.
Age has not been kind to those games, but Dragonslayer's DNA still lives on to this day. Dragonslayer 2: Xanadu and Dragon Slayer 6: The Legend of Heroes both spawned off into their own franchises.

Very cool, thanks for the background info. I should research further into this as many roots of Japanese game development probably game from the PC-88/98 machines, and it feels like studying that era may hold some clues to helping unlock some of the indie potential in present-day Japanese game development. I really feel like there's an untapped goldmine here in terms of talent and ideas, and it just needs a push in the right direction to coax it out.

If you are looking for games with sexual themes and aren't visual novels/adventure games there is Briganty: The Roots of Darkness, and Night Slave.
It's hard to find PC-98 games that are original and not text heavy visual novels/quiz games/strip poker games. Also there are a number of ports on the system if you really want to play Wolfenstein 3D or something.
Policenauts was originally a PC-98 game if you are a Hideo Kojima fan.

Sword / Children of Mana! That's a Sabercat / Sabre Kitty!
Leaning more to Sword than Children, but I can't clearly remember if they appeared in the crystal desert ^^"
Edit Derp, they appear near Lorimar and the Kahla Peaks, so definitely Sword, the Snow confirms that I think.
And I have nothing prepared, I pass.

As gonsi stated, the person who guessed correctly gets the next turn unless 12 hours have elapsed without a post or they have passed their turn. At the time of this comment, the last person who guessed right passed their turn so you could post this again if no one else has done so yet. :)
We also have a bit of a tradition of handing out punishment gifs for rules infractions...

Well, it's Arnold, so I consider it a good consolation prize for my stupidity.

What is a boogaloo?
The Electric Boogaloo is a dance style that became meme-ified to denote crazy sequels, as popularized by the 1984 film Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo. While we are not break dance battling here, it is kind of like a screenshot battle and hence, the "screenshot boogaloo".
