Guess the Game 3: Screenshot Boogaloo

Don't remember that particular scene, but those exact same vines blocking the door show up literally everywhere in the game

What threw me off that one was the striking resemblance to Casper the Friendly Ghost eating a flight of stairs. Which made sense until I thought how on earth would Casper yell 'ZA WARUDO' with an entire flight of stairs in his mouth?!

I got lucky in that I saw this one not too long ago because of it having received an English patch.

Also, I can't help but think that if you used a screenie of those Splatterhouse-style enemies from the same level, we'd be here guessing for a week at least. :j

I would say SOS / Septentrion (セプテントリオン). :)

First time participating, don't have anything to post now as I am at work currently and I would pick something everyone would guess anyway, so someone can take my place if I am right of course XD. ;)

The art style of the first screenie looked sooo similar to my impression of Fell Seal (with these cutaway creatures on blocky landscapes) that my mind instantly jumped to that one. But then the hints started to arrive.

I think I got it this time, though. The Holy Sword: The Ring?

My first guess was First samurai, didn't know about the Second. XD

btw do you have any experience with this or similar games ? Some pictures of Spuds Quest resemble certain dizzy areas very accurately, is it like a remake or completely different ?

The hint was indeed useful. The font and static looking background though made me think it was some kind of Japanese game, like a visual novel, and there were a billion random wizardry games.
