I guess I'm one of the few who have been charged. I did get it a day after release. I would have bought it anyway. Wanna support them because without them and Fanatical we'd have console pricing and only Steam sales. Yes, they are not perfect, but it saves me some cash every month to get my wishlisted games.
Comment has been collapsed.
Tbf, since they planned to give away the month today anyway, it shouln't be a bigger loss. People who directly claim games, had done this before the glitch anyway, so it's only those on fence and not interested.
Price glitches in store are something else, even more because it's often for new games.
Comment has been collapsed.
W Humble & W IGN. Some people were afraid that bots took millions of copies and activated centuries of choice on their accts but it doesn't look like it. Seems I was likely right, the quantities redeemed were much smaller, likely a few thousand dollars, which would cost more to reverse the process.
I'm gonna consider this a $6.50 coupon for two months and likely get next months just to show my appreciation back.

"Not our style"...this coming from the same company that sells bundles with games that're out of stock on the regular, and has tons of victims of their "keys are not available" bs. Still waiting on my Jack Move key from the October 2024 humble choice, but I guess doing right by the paying customers is also 'not their style'.
Comment has been collapsed.
Fair, I've been a genuine paying customer for years and this was the only month I canceled on. Even if the games were free, there have been $12 bundle very much so worth the $12 that would beat a free one once every 5 years or 10 years or whatever. So technically no matter what they'd do to the price of this, this bundle wont outdo certain $12 bundles they've put out in the past.
But I'm guessing you're salty like the masafor below because you missed out on it. Just think of all the times humble has given others $6 coupons month after month while some paid full price. Those who took advantage of two months at $6 would have gotten one bundle for free.
Comment has been collapsed.
Why not, they made a mistake and decided to own up to it. I am a paying customer tho and they didn't shaft me. I canceled because I was unhappy with this bundle after having a continuous sub for years, and then they had a glitch and offered it for free. I took it because free is braindead good even if it wasn't my most wanted games, but I would've gotten them for $6 too. Them honoring the deal I saw on the site when I got the bundle is just nice of them to do, and then they fixed the price.
They didn't make a list of people and said "no no not ZPE f that guy.", but you act like they went on a crusade to hurt you, when the reality is you're just jealous. I mean I was jealous too when they kept giving those $6 offers to people who canceled month after month after month. I was like tf did I just buy a yearly sub for, but tbh I didn't want the hassle of having to cancel and track every month, so it was worth it to me regardless.
I defend them because they ate that loss, despite them being able to spend about the same amount of money or more to revoke the keys and have them reissued. Like they could've been petty, and they said they'll do something nice. Of course imma take their side. + some people will be able to make giveaways with their extra's now, so that's a good thing I'd say.
PS: Someone tell me is "chuffed" and "shafting" popular slang in the UK? Sounds like really old slang. Like swag, but from 1960.
Comment has been collapsed.
IGN had a big party. I guess they thought it would help attract long-term customers among those who got it for free...... Congrats to those who got it properly
Comment has been collapsed.
So what happens for the people who already paid for the bundle? Do they get next month free? It's more Humble's style to not care about people once they got their money though, so I'm not holding out for it. But it would be a nice surprise.
Comment has been collapsed.
Nah humble has never cared about current subscribers. They only care for new ones which is why they're honoring the glitch. This isn't just humble though, most companies will bend over backward for new subs and won't give a single fuck about keeping current subs
Comment has been collapsed.
People who already paid are most likely on an annual plan which in itself gave them one or more free months.
Comment has been collapsed.
This would be interesting, but I'd still buy next months to appreciate them giving this month free. However, it doesn't seem right. They made a mistake, owned up to it and fixed it in 3 hours, decided not to revoke those keys as it's a hassle that will cost more than the keys themselves. So to make people who bought it days 1-3 happy, in your opinion they should willingly make another mistake, and give however many bundles they sold between June 3 and June 6 at whatever 5 pm mst I think, for the 3 hours this was a thing on June 6 5pm to 8pm.
On a bundle that already had sales and was live for days and to an unannounced mistake(because it was a mistake and wasn't intentional) that lasted for a 3 hour period, they should now extend that period to more than 72 hours a 24x multiplier time wise to the first mistake, and they should give a free month to all the people who were prepared day 1 and got the bundle and those who did for the next 72+ hours until the glitch happened.
Assuming they maybe sold 1k bundles in those 3 hours, that's around $12 000, if you multiply that by 24x that's $288 000 now, this still assuming unannounced numbers, but counting people who were ready to buy it day one-day three, it could be a 100x interest multiplier, so they should be paying like $28.8 million dollars maybe just to make you happy with this situation, all from a mistake that maybe cost them $12k to just let go and move on.
I wish everyone could get this month for free so you all get to feel equal or above others in terms of what you're getting when humble gives you a $4 coupon, but If this reasoning of yours ain't unreasonable I don't know what. That or maybe you'll catch some deal some of the people who got this will miss.
Comment has been collapsed.
Humble said they were planning on doing the free thing as a promo in a few days. The glitch was doing it early, not that they gave it away free at all. I have no want to feel like I'm above others. I didn't even buy the bundle this month as I only want Soul Reaver.
Humble has never given me a coupon actually. Don't know why. I think they just don't like me. lol
Comment has been collapsed.
I think they said it was meant for a different bundle though.
I mean I had been subbed for years with no coupons, seeing all the comments where people were bragging about their $4, $6, $8 coupons, and on June 2nd I had canceled for the first time in years because I didn't like the bundle. I checked the page to see if I got a coupon maybe(was checking multiple times in those 3 days) and saw it's free so I got it. I finally got a deal too, and then everyone here lost it's mind how unfair it is. But those who got 2x $6 coupons basically got a month for free. They just want to get more than everyone else, always.
Comment has been collapsed.
So I don't see any extra months in my settings page.
Does this only apply to exploiters so cheaters?
If so well seems like IGN found their audience... Those who cheat... Well it is not like they were ever big on fulfilling their promises. Scammers still have failed to get new keys for many games.
Comment has been collapsed.
Why would you see extra months in your settings page? Did you buy them? Did you redeem this one free month during the 3 hour period they had a glitch, when it was clearly advertised on their side as one free month for $0? It was only for 1 month, not multiple. Where's your extra months coming from?
Easy for you to call those people cheaters, when they went to the site and it clearly said one free month for $0, resumes next month at regular price of $x(whatever you normally would pay). They're cheaters for going to a site and seeing a deal for $0 and jumping on it. Or maybe you're just salty. Relax you'll get some other deals, and if not, you got a backlog of around 5000 games, so you found plenty of deals in the past.
Comment has been collapsed.
I redeemed immediately after the launch. In first minute or three.
Yes, I am salty. And stop protecting a scam site that has failed to stock enough keys time after time after time. Entirely and fully unreliable mess. Who have fully known number of copies they have sold, but have chosen to continue selling something they don't have. They deserve no praise until EVERY single copy is delivered. Even if this means they have to source it from other places for much higher price.
Are you per chance either stock owner or employee so part of these scammers?
Comment has been collapsed.
I mean you deflected your anger at their practice of selling keys overstock and restocking later or refunding x amount of the bundle, instead of focusing your anger at what just happened. You're more bothered by something else unrelated to what just happened.
As for their practice, they've been doing it for years now, but you still go there and judge them for it. You know that's how they operate. I can find reasons to both dislike that model, as in being in a situation I can't get my key that I paid for because it's OOS, but I understand from a business practice why this makes sense, and in many cases this would be more beneficial for selling as many bundles as possible and reaching as many users as possible, therefore more users than you know benefitted from this change.
Sure they had to wait a while, but these users were eventually able to get that game cheaper than they'll find it anywhere else. Sometimes that solution doesn't work so well, and some keys that are like 6 years or whatever don't get restocked, and the user gets refunded x wallet amount. That sucks but at least you can use that during a sale.
Believe it or not, I'm mostly ok with their model. buy the bundle as soon as it releases and don't wait to redeem your keys. If it's instantly out of stock it'll likely get restocked in a few days/weeks. If you want 6 years likely they'll use their supply and have to ask for more to fill your need. There's also security risks as to why it's not viable for them to assign you a key and then have it readily available for you for 6 years. Someone could breach your e-mail login steal your old keys and you'd never know because you use humble to stash them, and clearly label them as unseen, redeem now. It's not perfect by far but it's a lot better than the charity bundles on fanatical that end super fast and everyone's sad they missed out AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN.
As for owning equity in Ziff Davis, no, and HB and IGN are private as far as I know, so no to that either.

Now or looks like I was stupid no to "buying" >= 20 monthly. As I said earlier it did not seem right for me. But after this resolution I think I should. In my opinion they should do at last something with extra credits when someone bought for example multiple (like >2 or >=2 credits).
Comment has been collapsed.
Same here. I should be happy for all the people who got some free games, but this doesn't feel great for someone who saw the glitch early enough and decided to not take advantage of a company that does charity. How about adding a free month credit for paying subscribers, HB?
Comment has been collapsed.
Is this your acc, can you show proof you're redeeming all of these on the same acc in your billing history? I'd be mega surprised if you're not getting banned, could take as long as you redeeming the next bundle tho. But if you aren't damn congrats although 1 month would've been enough lol.
Comment has been collapsed.
What makes you confident it's not fake/photoshopped/old data? What if they just took the e-mail image that was posted in many locations, they already had 10 months, then they redeemed the gift link to their acc putting them at 11 months? Where did the "We will see how it goes, but so far (12/20 redeemed)" come from? Just a guy in discord saying "I redeemed 20 months" ?
Comment has been collapsed.
You could elaborate that message a little better
First message sound like: look I'm very smart, I get a lots of free months
Second message sound like: why I'm getting so many blacklists?
Here are people that get this bundle from the HB screwing it up, and no one say I ended with 1 extra credit, that means 2 free monthly bundles instead of 1
If it's not yours (unchequeable now) it's better for you to say something like: hey guys, I found this on discord, could this be true
Sorry for my basic english
Comment has been collapsed.
I see what you mean. However, I am not trying to sound smart or to avoid blacklist, just spreading info found on Discord and which I have found interesting. My message was a follow-up of my previous post, which may also have seemed like I was the user in question. I see it now.

So everyone that was able to take advantage of the bug gets rewarded but long loyal paying customers get nothing.
Makes sense. This is IGN after all.
I contacted HB, let's see what their response is.

That's pretty much the hook for all corps. They want new customers and DGAF about current ones. I wonder since all these keys are being given away for free how bad next month will be. 4x Origin keys?

Yeah, I contacted them too. And mentioned that I already wasn't pleased with their recent "achievements".
I wonder how they'll react to my final segment.
Seriously, is Trump or someone appointed by him leading your business? Because the level of incompetence and US-favorism clearly suggests so.
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't get the US thing. Plenty of other places in the world would have been awake for it, I believe it was 2AM in germany. What you failed to consider is that it's a US company, so they'll work a US normal schedule of maybe 9am to 5pm.
You've created an illusion that it's US favoritism, as if they had intended for this to happen and just give it to US people only, but you blissfully ignored that it is a US company operating on their normal time, I bet your tech companies aren't fully staffed at 2am, or your bank tellers aren't all normally at work at 2 am expecting a rush of germans to go to the bank at 2 am but not at 9am. You also ignored that countries like Canada, Mexico and like 50% of the world should have been awake during normal hours, europe seems to have fallen into the timezone of 2am, but lets be honest, tons of gamers are on at 2am, getting ready for sleep entering their last giveaways, or doom scrolling reddit, so they might have seen it.
Comment has been collapsed.
people just love to complain about how things get scheduled when it doesn't line up for their schedules.
just like with Path of Exile leagues, Europeans and others over closer to that area love to complain because leagues start late evening for them where the USA gets a mid afternoon launch(only really relevant for the racers since they have to start later in their days)... but reality is its just GGG working off of the New Zealand time(where they are located) and timing it so they have all of a work day to smash critical issues as they pop up.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yes, exactly that.
The mentality of "Everyone's against me" unless it works out in their favor case in which "it's fair for everyone you just missed it". How many of them advocated for US, or the excluded countries when Bandai had it's EU loyalty program?
Comment has been collapsed.
Oooor maybe this was also about their other "recent achievements" I mentioned in my comment? Like the exclusive price increase for the EU and Canada? Or getting IGN+ as "compensation", which largely provides benefits exclusive to US residents?
Seems that it was you who failed to consider something? But I guess being "blissfully ignorant" of all the actual US-favorism ultimately results in comments like yours.
P.S.
About your story: Do you really doubt that they would have revoked all these free months if the people in India or Turkey had been the ones profiting most?
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh I thought your e-mail to them was related to this bundle:
"Yeah, I contacted them too. And mentioned that I already wasn't pleased with their recent "achievements" I wonder how they'll react to my final segment.".
Since you were being ambiguous with "recent achievements" I thought you were being funny with the mistake they just made. Who knew you meant something that happened a few weeks ago.
Then at the end you divert from the point of your e-mail and make a statement about something unrelated as to why you contacted them in the first place, which undermines the point of your first argument because now they got other things consider why you're upset, not just jealousy for missing the glitch period.
I don't think I failed to consider anything, I think you discriminate against usa companies without thinking first. It shows again at the end of your comment.
"P.S.
About your story: Do you really doubt that they would have revoked all these free months if the people in India or Turkey had been the ones profiting most?"
I mean I did explain there's going to be a bigger cost to do this than to let people keep the keys. How? Well you gotta pay people to get all the keys refunded and reissued, resync'd in the database, resend them all. Time in which of course it's already june 6, and you can't sell any bundles until you have the new keys, or you sell them under the pretext of the keys not being available yet, aka less sales because you too don't want to buy bundles with keys out of stock, which results in them making less sales for the days it takes for valve to approve new keys and everything getting reprocessed. So do you think they made more money since the glitch by just moving on, or do you think they would've made the same amount of money if people couldn't get their keys and had to wait days for them to be sent again? Would having their games revoked upset the people who already paid and started playing their games? They don't generate that much money in 3 hours, vs 5 days for instance. So time is money here. No matter how you look at it, it was more efficient to eat the loss and move on.
So yes, no mater where they're from, india, turkey, zimbabwe, china, whatever, I do think they would've let people keep the keys. Although I was also betting on them following standard company procedure that they all follow and revoke them. But I was much less confident in that because of the cost.
To claim that if it was canada and they would've revoked them but because it was usa they let them keep them is a targeted us xenophobic racist comment.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yes, when I mention "recent" that indeed includes events from a few weeks ago. And it really shouldn't have been that complicated to connect the dots.
Your calculation about their costs in revoking these keys only makes sense if their complete system is ancient disorganized bs. Otherwise it's pretty easy to identify every Choice purchased for free, get their associated keys and bulk revoke them. And it should be even easier to disable all such purchases from revealing keys, so they could just continue selling Choice unrestricted.
Considering our experiences with their professionalism, competence and simply said work ethics, you actually still might be correct. Yet this would just justify even more that I questioned their competence.
I frankly don't care about your irrational and tearful racism claim. Especially not after we have seen Humble favoring US customers, but it seems you have forgotten about that. Again.

"Yes, when I mention "recent" that indeed includes events from a few weeks ago. And it really shouldn't have been that complicated to connect the dots."
Sometimes when you type it's good to be specific and type long ass messages like me. We're not connected brain to brain so not everyone is gonna figure out what recent means to you. Recent to some could mean centuries or seconds. No one should have to figure out you're still upset over what humble did a few weeks ago, when they're constantly releasing bundles that will always have someone upset somehow.
"Your calculation about their costs in revoking these keys only makes sense if their complete system is ancient disorganized bs. It's not just retrieving the keys, they'll get an influx of support messages as they clearly advertised a $0 month. They already are backed up in support, now they just added how many paid hours of support they have to pay OT to get through all the tickets. Now they gotta send these bad keys back and have different publishers use their own unpaid time to deal with humbles problem, that costs money. What about the people who already played the games, and got the trading cards and sold them? How do you revoke all that or eat that cost. Or is the dev going to be ok with many having hours in the games they weren't supposed to have?
You fail to consider humble is a somewhat old company. Likely the system the run isn't as updated and easy to navigate as todays. You walk into a major retailer and sure their cashiering is fast, but their back system runs a linux ancient system that the elves inherited from the aliens when they didn't even use a mouse and navigating the seas is done by letters and numbers and shorthand notations passed down through generations. JK, but even if humble is using a somewhat more recent 2010 or so system, they're likely not on 2025 tech to do everything you say as fast , easy and efficient as you think it can be done based on a yt video on prototype technology. It took them 3 hours to reverse the glitch back to normal operations, not 2 minutes.
"Considering our experiences with their professionalism, competence and simply said work ethics, you actually still might be correct. Yet this would just justify even more that I questioned their competence."
No one is perfectly competent, everyone makes mistakes even your perfect idols. You think you're perfect and the most efficient at every moment of your life, or that they have to be? The takeaway is they fixed the problem, took a small revenue loss, and decided not to be petty and move on.
"I frankly don't care about your irrational and tearful racism claim. Especially not after we have seen Humble favoring US customers, but it seems you have forgotten about that. Again."
This could have to do with standards of living raising in Europe and the dollar losing value. But you ignore those things. It's because a crapload of companies are taking their remote work to Europe as to not pay US wages, while paying crazy European wages. This basically takes money out of the USA and pours it into Europe. You wouldn't see IBM, Google, Intel, or whatever other tech in Europe otherwise other than on a small scale. But they're went all out to even provide free bootcamps there so people can learn how to code, for them to avoid having to pay $300k senior engineer wages here, and instead pay $200k there. This slowly hurts the dollar, and so while the standard of living there might be rising(you might not notice if if you're not lucky), the standard of living in the US has dropped. Does it justify a $2 price increase? I think not, but consider the rules and regulations you also got in the EU, which US consumers don't. It's possible the additional measures they have to take to provide service there ends up costing them money. I also forget if there's a tariff on digital goods, which would maybe explain some of this.
Lastly, if you hate them so much man, why do you keep buying from them? Why not just buy the games off steam? I don't hear you complain about steam's prices, or anyone elses.
PS: Your comment was xenophobic, it was the definition of it.

You're talking a 3 hour glitch period no one knew about, so very little people being able to take advantage of this, vs the bundle releasing on a specific known date, with leaks, with known price, out for 72+ hours. You want them to compensate 72+ hours of planned purchases so who knows how many thousands of purchases for a 3 hour glitch mistake?
Imo I should be getting paid $10 million dollars for every letter in this reply to you, because some other people make money typing stuff online and I wasn't able to take advantage of that. When I get my money I'll agree with you. /s

"Apples vs Oranges

By those standards you shouldn't even exist. I was right about the glitch not being big enough to have leaked onto retailer sites. Even if humble let them keep the keys, users aren't selling them, millions of keys haven't been stolen etc., as prices on grey sites have maintained. I've done my research. "Professional writers" sometimes are like that reviewer at IGN who couldn't play Doom. In fact, these "professional writers" butt you adore so much are generally the ones providing fake, twisted news, to their agenda or whoever paid them. You're supposed to use your brain, read the content, and start doing your own research to see your own understanding of it. You're just lazy and developed a 1 sentence solution for this, aka "blame the cheaters, I'm unfairly treated" but you wont look more into it because jealousy and selfishness eats at you. I can't fix you, but I can point out the obvious and it's ugly. Instead of having the truth, you'd rather fabricate one so you have something to be mad about, because nothing else is going on in your life.
"Missing info You have 0 data on how big the abuse has been."
The point was that even if it was a 1000 user mistake during a 3 hour period no one knew of , prepared for or was expecting to happen, the numbers of people who claimed the choice during the first 72+ hours much larger, because of factors I mentioned. We're speaking maybe a few thousand dollars mistake to you now wanting them to pay everyone millions."
"The glitch abusers who bragged online about adding 17 months to their account might be the tip of the iceburg."
You already know the people using multiple months will end up getting banned when they redeem the second one and it's just people baiting you online and you're falling for it. Ask them for proof of their billing history and check the image for alterations, and have them provide proof this is their main acc too.
"Have a nice day. Oh and good luck with your 10 million pipe dream."
That was obviously sarcasm, but why would you get it? You're not developed enough. You missed it's point entirely, because you choose to live a lie instead.

I didn't care, you replied, I replied. If you keep replying that means you are interested. It's not questionable, it's factual. I always have to give you an education on what your actions mean, because you don't understand the terms you're using. If you wanted to show disinterest you would move on. But you're doing what you always do, deflecting from the topic because you've internally accepted your argument was bad, but aren't willing to admit it.
"Seeing how you waste people's time and never admit you're wrong, there's no point really."
You could say I'm the most valuable asset you have. Consider you got to this point in life and no one has taken care to develop you, and I'm here helping you out for free. Even then, as a bonus, you've never been forced to any of it, you've willingly chosen to participate. You've submitted but you call it wasting people's time when you, with your own little brain choose to come back over and over again. You instead accept reality and should refer to it as you wasting your own time(since you want this) if that's how you feel about it, and then take the proper course of action and move on. But you enjoy learning. You're welcome.

Obviously you do. You call it zero logic, but it's you who can't argue as to why it's wrong, but it's easy for you to say it's zero logic. The reverse is happening, you got zero logic, but you can't admit it because it eats at you.

What, people went to the site and it clearly said $0 for 1 month, resuming full price july. Those who abuse it more will get banned, you already know humble is strict and good at finding abusers even if very little, and those comments you see in a discord forum are baiting you to make you mad and salty, and it worked. You believe someone photoshopping an image. Grats.
"I'll try not replying to you at all about this from now. You derailed the convo enough already."
Delusional much? I made an argument you couldn't defend yourself against, so you derailed like you've done how many times in the past? You've always done this, someone pull up previous convos with this guy. Derailing has always been your way of "arguing" because you can't actually defend your POV, because they're wrong and dumb, but you're too stuck in your ways to admit there's anything that could be wrong with the way you perceive things and be willing to grow up and learn. Then we both went discussing whatever else you wanted to discuss which was random trash, but it passed the time by.
If I see it I'll always point out misinformation some of you spread to bend reality into some illusion that fits your narratives. Take care. ^_^

Get help, bud. It might do you some good if you stop your trash-talk and spam on SG.

I love opinions because they're debatable, except you don't debate yours because it has not grounds to stand on at all.
Edit: I mean they're replies to different people. I quite enjoyed this thread. Call it insane, I just refresh this thread to see what's new. I have to wait another whole hour for STW dailies to refresh, the shows this season are not to my standards and there's not much else to do, so I'm a little bored. You're the guy that counted 70 replies.
Also believe it or not, I'm actually looking positive with this thread, there's an SG chart to demonstrate it, if you can convince a mod that has access to it they can confirm it for you. I guess for how long and detailed my replies are, some people do see that your guys` POV and jealousy is uglier than whatever I could spew out.
I hope humble looks at your guys` tickets and gives all of you the bundle for free, but I wonder if that will make you appreciate what they did for you, or will you still complain and hate on them for an unintentional mistake they never planned to happen? Or will you direct your pointless hatred to the closest thing, just to have something to hate on?
Edit 2: Cope you literally just read it like you always do, why u always lying?

aka you? You couldn't even last an hour so I can go do my dailies lmao, and you worry about me?

I bought a Humble Choice for June and I saw, that I paid 0 EUR. I checked my card, it's correct - free. WTF, I thought. I told my friend to buy this month too, same thing. What is happening here?
