So if you wanted to try it at some point or just add it to your library, you should do it today.

The Ip-block will commence by tomorrow june 11th and you will not be able to access the store page or download the game via steam anymore. This seems to be because of butthurt publishers in EU and Russia that decided too many people rather play a game via a fair publisher with a fair pricing model than their shitty version of the game.

If you buy DLC and then delete local content it lets you keep game in library??

if you bought dlc for it, yes.

Since the dlc can only be bought from someone in NA, you would need someone from there to buy it for you though.

Agreed. There have been games I want, can't get them in any way.

There is also Duck Dynasty, that I just want to experience once for 5 minutes, but can't do that either.

Actually you can do that! Steam Refund system allows you to try a game for 2 hours or less and get your money back :).
Straight from steam site http://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds
You can request a refund for nearly any purchase on Steam—for any reason. Maybe your PC doesn't meet the hardware requirements; maybe you bought a game by mistake; maybe you played the title for an hour and just didn't like it.

Where Refunds Apply
The Steam refund offer, within two weeks of purchase and with less than two hours of playtime, applies to games and software applications on the Steam store. Here is an overview of how refunds work with other types of purchases.

From the reviews of this game I found this quite funny as I have never seen it before
You will quickly learn that MMORPG actually stands for "Mostly Men Online Role Playing Girls"

Permalink

+1 Then again wouldn't you also get tired of watching a game all day? Seen many pro players play MMORPG as girls for that reason.

As a man any chance of choosing a female character in a game I will.
I would rather watch a girls butt than some dudes butt.

Removing the game from Steam by choice is like shooting yourself in the foot. Tera isn't a small MMO but it's still dumb thing to do.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

They're just removing it from EU and Russia, it's the NA version anyway and they don't specify that anywhere, which is horrible from them, you would just have tons of pings without knowing why.
Edit:

Our decision to enforce this region restriction was influenced by external pressure from the publishers of TERA in these regions.

If they don't impose an IP ban, we'll still be able to download, even with region restriction, you can still open the direct download link and the game will show up in your library if it's free to play

wow, I just wanted to download it and see how is NA compared to EU version. If I download it now, do I get to keep it?
I remember that I pressed a link for the NA Vindictus and it's now in my library and I can play it. But will the IP block be Steam or Enmasse?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You get to keep it as long as you don't delete it again.
If you buy a Tera "dlc pack" you can even delete it and it will remain in your library.
The Ip-Block will only affect the steamstore-page of Tera in order to keep EU and RUS players from installing it via steam, you can still get the client via the enmasse website.

On another Note : the NA version is much better than the EU version and most EU guys get a ping around 120ms.

I know, Gameforge has a habit of breaking good MMOs, look at AION...
Vindictus has a free DLC pack, so if you try to install the game from an install link it will stay in your library and you can download it even if you are not in NA.

I find it ironic though that Tera EUROPE was on the "coming soon" list on Steam for a few years and the American version released first. Right under the belt for Gameforge. F*** Gameforge

Downloaded at day one on steam, uninstalled few hours later (the time for installation) because I couldn't use my existing european account.
No regrets.

They should add european/russian servers on steam instead of banning european/russian users... am I wrong?

Two different publishers with different servers etc.

also the EU publisher is a cancerous little shit that only tries to milk you for everything they can.

No, Tera is ok, you can play it on NA anyway for now, this ip block is just for new users downloading from Steam, but you will still be able to download it even after that, there are ways (that don't involve VPNs, you just click the download link it doesn't work on SG)

They CAN'T add European/Russian server because Gameforge has a monopoly over asian MMOs in Europe and buys the right to all of them, makes them pay2win and shuts them down. Your existing European account is still there because Tera is a really great game and Gameforge didn't make such a mad bad model for the EU version.
Look at RaiderZ, was a great game, Gameforge got the rights for it in the EU, the game shut down.
Look at Aion, it's a great game, but Gameforge is still milking from the fact that it used to be subscription based...

"TERA will no longer be available on Steam for download from ## certain countries ## in Europe" - is this applies to all countries of the European Union (EU members) or across all Europe - someone knows the answer to that because they did not specify?
