I'm surprised nobody mentioned Viber. It should have pretty much the same features as Skype did, including a paid option to call people worldwide on any phone number, which is a pretty good alternative to expensive international calls when you want to reach someone who does not have internet - which has become rare these days, but it's kinda cute they still have that option.
