Hey Guys/Gals of steamgifts,

Steam charged me twice...and I know you are all like how is this possible. well the first time it said a error had occurred your payment did not go through so I said okay...so I go back to the store through the link it gave me and add it again and purchase it. it goes through this time. Now I have been charged twice and have 2 copies of the game...what do I do now. it only showed one copy when I clicked "purchase as a gift"

doubt my story? look in my inventory lol 2 copies...not my fault. So what action can I take now? I just wanted 1 not 2... I want my lunch money back steam! I gotta eat tomorrow!!!

Take Care & God Bless Steamgifters!

What game was it? Just curious.
Also, I'd just dispute it.

Just to clarify, dispute it with steam, not the CC company. You do a charge back, say bye to your account.

I would care more if you only got 1 copy.
Nonetheless, contact Valve, they will look into it

Contact Steam Support like you should have done and ask them to refund the second.

Talk to Steam support. They should be able to resolve this issue. Good luck.

I got that error once and noticed the stuff was in my account and that I had been charged. I wrote them just to verify everything was alright and it wasn't going to get removed from my account (So I wouldn't miss a sale).

If you get the error, the first thing you should do is check to see if your stuff is there. Steam isn't that great as a browser or with their website coding. I see random errors that don't actually end up meaning anything.

Distance Selling Regulations apply in the EU. Just ask for a refund.

It ain't been activated, you're eligible for a refund, plus the fact it was an error on their behalf.

Are you sure you were charged twice? Steam displays two copies of Civ IV for every customer - one version is for Mac and one is for Windows. They just made a mess of things. Check your email and/or bank account to see if you were charged twice if you haven't checked yet. Many people think they were charged twice for this particular game, but they weren't.

Discussion of this issue is here.

Are you sure you were charged twice? Sid Meier's Civilization IV shows up twice in my games (definitely only bought once), but one can't be installed on my computer. Check to make sure you were indeed charged twice and then contact support.

Happened to me before, too. Traded the second copy.
