Disappearing Giveaway

So, 2 days ago, i won a giveaway for age of empires 3 collection. As per the norm, i sent a friend invite to the giveaway maker on steam to ease the contact situation. Today, i come home from work to find the invite ignored, the giveaway completely gone from my list of "won" giveaways, and no option to list as received or not received.

To be fair, this was a giveaway that was called out even in the comments for potentially being fake, as the owner was relatively new, first giveaway, and didn't have the game nor the item in his inventory, however, S.O.P. so far has been to wait a week, then report it as not received, never before have i seen the thing just straight up disappear, any ideas?
