Any help is appreciated, though I don't understand some of the technical computer terms. I'm not a total noob at computers but I don't know a lot.

Recently some games have not started on Steam. I noticed that they are Unity games. The Unity screen shows and then it crashes. The game never loads at all. I can play other games just fine.

I have tried closing Steam and restarting it. Uninstalling the game(s) and reinstalling. Rebooting my computer. None of that worked.

Is there anything else I should try?

Thanks in advance.

Seriously, please help. You can even make fun of me if you want, I don't care.

I did some googling but didn't understand much. I tried to update my drivers. I rebooted my comptuer and now Steam won't even load! Ugh. I need to play my games. I'm going through game withdrawl. Please help!

What errors are you getting? Which games are you referring to? What drivers did you update? Can't help with no details.

You have 1,6k games, go play something else instead.

Have you tried verifying integrity of game cache?

If you see any error messages/code. Try taking a screenshot or recording it down and post it on the community discussion forums for the related games. Someone else probably had the exact same issue too.

Verdun crashed for me when I tried starting it but worked fine after verifying integrity. Hope it works for you.

If it is just unity games maybe it is related to your net framework. Just download 4.6 and it should work (if this was the cause) but with no concrete info on the errors you get its not easy to find an solution.

PC Load Letter?
On topic, I did some extensive googling a while ago when you first posted and I couldn't find anything useful. Then I had to go get more wine and Wendy's (cheeseburger deluxe, 6 piece chicken nuggets /w honey mustard, chili cheese fries). Yeah it's wierd I know, but sorry I can't help much.

did you install a new OS like win10?
maybe you are missing some stuff like PyrO17 mentioned above (net framework, c++ runtime and xna framework too?).

No, I did not install windows 10. I have windows 7.

There is no error message, the game just disappears.

Only now Steam doesn't start at all. So now I can't play anything.

Here's what I did about the drivers. I went to control panel and searched for drivers. It led me to "Device Manager" and "Update Device Drivers". I clicked on my display adapter and right-clicked on it and selected "Update Driver Software". It opened a box that asked if I wanted to search the web for a driver or use one on the computer. I selected to search the web. It did stuff and I clicked ok when needed. And now Steam doesn't work at all.

I just tried uninstalling Steam completely from my computer. Shutting down. Waiting awhile. Starting computer up and reinstalling Steam. Still does not work. It says "Connecting Steam Account" and then that disappears and there's nothing. No Steam at all.

you should download the video drivers from either nvidia or amd site... don't update from the device manager.

Ok. I'll remember that next time. I got it working by undo-ing the update.

Have you tried running the game(s) as an Administrator?

If you have and it didn't work then try this:
Right-click the game in your Steam Library and select "Properties".
Select "Set launch options..."
Add the command "-skipintro" (sans quotes) in the box and click "OK".
Close the Properties box.
Launch game.

If this doesn't let your game launch or returns an error message just redo the same steps but clear the box that you entered the command in instead.

There is a known issue in Unity, of which I'm not going to explain the technical aspects, but this is a common workaround. The issue also seems to be more prevalent with AMD/ATI video cards.

Also make sure that you are running the latest video drivers and .NET framework on your system. Use the video drivers from the manufacturer's site.

Have you tried running the game outside of Steam using its .exe? It should be located at "Steam\SteamApps\common" of whichever drive you installed your Steam games on.

Can you name some games you tried? Do the games give any errors when they crash? What graphics card are you using?
If you are using a recent Nvidia card, did you turn off Shadow play? It's in the GeForce Experience program.

I have AMD Radeon HD 6550D.

Games that have crashed: Blockwick 2, Letter Quest (the new updated one), Intergalactic Bubbles.Broken Bots.

Games I've been able to run recently: Bejeweled 3 (no sound, though), 12 Labours of Hercules III.
