Good luck on your new laptop (and the JOB!!!) CasualGiver123. FOR BARBIEEEEE!!! :p

A few months ago someone gave me an old (2008ish) notebook. They got a new one and were worried about throwing it away or donating it because of hearing about people stealing information from the HD. They gave it to me and asked me to wipe the drive for them and then do whatever I wanted with it. I ran a 7-pass wipe with wipe DBAN, but I have no use for it, so you can have it if you want it.

I don't remember the specs off hand, and it's currently buried under piles of papers. All I remember is that it has an Intel Core-2 Duo, the screen res is 1280x800 (or might have been 1280x768) the HD is a 500GB Western Digital, and it had Windows Vista on it.

My laptop died a year ago or more after five or six years.
Maybe the next week i will have my new PC ... maybe

Sorry to hear about your laptop though. Happened to mine a couple of years back but I guess after a good 6 years it serves it purpose well and it's time to move on. You'll fine a better one soon after getting the second job! Who knows, might even get you a new PC setup :)

if you are looking for a decent cheapo laptop, take a look at the Asus E200HA. Pretty light, battery life is pretty good. Don't expect to run games with it though.
