Good luck for your interview Student!
Bring Barbie back because she's like a light beacon in a pitch black night! ^^

Just wondering, do you need a laptop that moves a lot or just a transportable PC? They now make semi-heavy (mine is a bit under 4kg) laptops with desktop components, and IMO that really beats the hell out of having a laptop plus a desktop, as long as you don't need a lot of mobility (only one PC to buy and maintain).

I hope good things will come from all of this for you. Good luck with the interview too!
They try to stop Barbie at all costs. They will see their mistake in the end of days. Their hearts are hardened, and their minds are closed.
How arrogant of them all...
BARBIE IS EVERYTHING AND MORE, BUT BARBIE IS COMPASSIONATE AND WILL HAVE MERCY ON THOSE WHO REFUSE TO HEAR AND UNDERSTAND THE TRUTH!

What's a timing! Don't worry, usually when you lose something, you'll get something else return, that's how the world rolls. Barbie bless you ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)

Welp, unexpected things can fuck you over sometimes, but in other times, they are good and maybe one of them will be, that you will get the job. :) Still, sorry to hear this and good luck on your interview! Have a bump.
Also, why are the options either pessimistic or optimistic? :D

That's bad news and the possibilities for the cause are not one or two. Did the laptop do not start at all or there no picture? For laptops , a good starting point is the video card but unfortunately in most cases it is soldered to the motherboard, making the change expensive.
Good luck with the new job and thank you Student123:)

It definitely sounds like overheating - i am sorry.
Some time ago I read about organizations (in USA ) that take old machines and repair them and then donate. So if you're not planning to fix it maybe is a good option. Just do not forget to pick up your hard drive - you know just in case.
Good luck with the new laptop and don't forget to read reviews before buying and see whether the model have a problems and does not overheat systematically.
Thank you again and all the best :)
