Unable to sync Steam account

Hey,

seems like Steam updated the account thingy somehow. At least I am unable to sync my account manually. It always says to make my profile public which it already is.

Is this bug already known?

oh this is a very well known problem. It should fix itself in a couple of hours/days
would post a couple but just search up sync in the discussions and there is a few from even like 9 months ago

yeah i dont have it right now but ive experienced it a bunch myself when i sync it manually that it will tell me to go to public even though it always is

Its steam so of course it just randomly works or then not. Can be a global problem, a local one just on the steam server with your account on it or even just Gaben hating you personally. All steam as usual.

Change your steam profile to private and then change back to public, then sync....worked for me today

It sometimes works for me. If its not working you have to wait few hours and try again. There is no other way. Sometimes i have to completely quit steam and wait few minutes and sync on SG. Anyway you can try these or you can wait it out to fix itself.

I can't sync mine either. I've never had a problem before, made no changes to Steam account or Steamgifts account. My Steam account was always public. Tried going private > back to public and nothing. Ideas?

I have the problem when logged into Astats i can't sync here could be a coincidence tho. Got fixed for me when i tried syncing in a different browser

Thanks. Just tried Chrome (I use Firefox) and it worked ok. Not sure what is happening there but at least I can enter giveaways again!

Happens reasonably often at this time as steam tends to do updates and things like this so do not worry about it. Give it a few minutes or hours and it should all work fine again! Just synced a few seconds ago and its seems fine at the moment.

It happens to me sometimes, not sure why. It doesn't seem to be caused by making your profile private as I don't do that and it still happens to me. The bright side is it sometimes fixes itself pretty quickly, sometimes it can take awhile though. It's been reported numerous times in tickets and we are aware of the situation. We've brought it up in our staff forums so CG can look into what might be causing the issue. Hopefully it will get cleared up soon.
