Installing Steamgifts Plus on Chrome 33 and above

The original Steamgifts Plus extension is here.

With the Chrome Beta version 33 on Windows, a new security feature blocks all extensions that have not been installed from the Web Store unless an unpacked extension is installed through developer mode. Unfortunately this cannot be done with the Steamgifts Plus extension without some modification, so to make it easier I have added the files to a zip file that you can download here.

Installation Instructions:

  1. Download the Zip file from above and move the folder into any location you like.
  2. Go the the Chrome Extensions page and tick the development mode box at the top of the page.
  3. Click 'Load Unpacked Extensions' at the top of the page and find the Steamgifts Plus folder.
  4. Click Ok and the extension should be installed.

This extension is not made my me, I only modified it for use with Chrome version 33 and up. This should work just like the original and keep the filters and settings that you were using before.

Same here. Waiting for a new download location.

SG v.2 can't come soon enough if the devs of these extensions are unable or unwilling to get them authorized for the Chrome Store.
