My mom had her gallbladder removed, too. Take your time and rest up as much as you can.

Boop
hopefully your recovery is alot faster than mine was for gallbladder removal... mine was almost an entire month... albeit... most of that was because it had all the words you don't want a doctor saying about an organ inside of you attached to it.

Glad it went well and your recovery is going smoothly. Here's to you getting back to a normal routine soon!

Oof. How does that impact your health going forward? I know people used to claim that removing your appendix didn't matter and that just straight-up wasn't true, as apparently it causes stomach issues due to good bacteria having nowhere to hide while the immune system does its job protecting you.

Well, apparently not that much? Totally depends on the person I think, but in a more ideal scenario, a life wiithout a gallbladder should be healthier, because of the changes to your diet you have to make. Aka eating less fatty food since fat makes the liver produce more gall and if there is not gallbladder to store that gall, it goes straight into the intestine and you have some stomach issues then. Although I have heard people say they went back to eating normally after so I guess it matters from person to person. Personally I'm taking it as a challenge to be healthier :)

That's good. I wouldn't trust myself, personally, but it's nice to know that, with the right diet, your life should mostly be the same. Kind of an upside if it makes you healthier in the long-term. Silver linings and all that.
Hope you get well very soon and that the future looks bright.

For me it was the opposite (at first) -- I had a 'bad' gall bladder for many years and attempted to 'manage' it by not eating foods that would trigger a gall bladder attack, and not over-eating.
When I finally had it removed (after a particularly bad attack), I started eating all of the 'trigger' foods that I had skipped over the years, and I also allowed myself to over-eat sometimes.
I gained 20 pounds in the first year after my surgery.
I've now adjusted my eating habits, and started exercising regularly, and lost all of that extra weight.
It sounds like you have a great attitude, so I doubt you will have any issues. I wish you the best!

Two weeks ago I had my gallbladder removed and to celebrate my doctor clearing me to get off sick leave in a week's time and get back into the real world, I'm giving you a really simple puzzle for a long-ish train. Since I haven't celebrated any cakedays in my whole 13 years on this platform, I though it was time I did this. I decided to not have any crazy rules for this train, just a simple puzzle and a Level 1 will suffice.

I tried my best for this to not be a train of the usual suspects, I probably failed a bit, but I did make it a rule for there to not be games with reviews under 75% positive. I think only one is under 80%. Hopefully everyone can find at least something for themselves in this!
Good luck!
EDIT: I won't be able to get through every nice comment you wonderful people left as I don't want to just spam thank you messages, but I do appreciate every one of you leaving a word of encouragment. It really means a lot!
