LIMITED TIME: $6 USD a month to subscribe to Humble Choice Premium for 6 months. Ends January 1, 2021 at 9:59:59 AM PST. Reactivated

That’s one hell of a deal if I ever saw one, currently using the $8 for 6 months coupon (which I already thought was a great deal), probably going to cancel that and get this instead.

Note: You will lose the discount if you pause a month.

Still not gonna get it because buying random games is pointless. I have 1k games in library and only played less than 7-8% of the lot. With backlog of games like Cyberpunk 2077, Control, and a new library of VR games, its just throwing money away on more +1 to the game library. If a game is good, just buy it. Rather than getting random games and then trading to get the ones you do like. Purchasing without knowing what you are getting is a tad silly.

That's exactly my concern. One one hand this is a hell of a deal since you are getting 14 games for a total price of 4.92€ so each game cost little and you won't probably get them anywhere cheaper anytime soon.
On the other hand you are paying blind in advance since you can't pause it and the most you can do is cancel the sub so that would leave the great deal to this month only worth of it and assuming you want to play some of the games features on it and not collecting +1s.

Before HB monthly became HB choice, people were paying $12 for 12 games from which they knew like 2-3 headliners and they liked it, it was kind of a gamble.
Now you can get 12+ games for $6 every month and you know what you will get, so I would say it's a really great deal and there is no point in not using it.

Still not gonna get it because buying random games is pointless
Rather than getting random games and then trading to get the ones you do like. Purchasing without knowing what you are getting is a tad silly.

But.. you will know what you get?
You are not paying $36 upfront, you are paying $6 for each month you will choose to take, if you don't like the games, you can just pause and lose the discount.

its just throwing money away on more +1 to the game library. If a game is good, just buy it.

Usually "better" games are priced $10+ so you won't be (probably) able to get good games for such a low price.
Also, it's a great way of discovering indie titles which you didn't know about.
In the worst case you can just... you know... give them to someone else who will like it? It's not like you have to keep it all for yourself.

A small correction if you don't mind. You can't pause a month with the 6$ offer. It's either you pay for the games each month or you cancel the sub. If I could pause it would be an insta get for me.

Argon kind of made that point already:

"But.. you will know what you get?
You are not paying $36 upfront, you are paying $6 for each month you will choose to take, if you don't like the games, you can just pause and lose the discount."

So I think just to clarify. You can see the jan games on jan 1st, if you don't like it, don't redeem and cancel. Sure you lose the rest of the 6 dollar discount for the rest of the 4 upcoming months, but you do get to pick whether you want that month or not.

I don't believe humble charges you until after the auto-charge date.

Well, now that the bundle is out I can definitely see that I would not have liked to have even one of the games. So I guess I saved myself 6 bucks? Because I would have had to spend a minimum of 6 bucks before being able to pause? At least that is my understanding.

I used to like Humble Bundle before they were bought out. Their games used to be a lot better. Now I rarely buy from them. Their recent VR bundle was nice though, and I bought that.

And I disagree on that. If there is a good game on the bundle, I can just purchase that for 12 bucks for that one month. Or I can buy it from someone on steamtrades for even less. So I really dont see the lure in paying money upfront for a chance to get a game I might like.

Also, if I am giving away games, I wouldn't want to give away games that are not even good enough for me to play. I did that on this site initially, but realized that most people don't play what they win anyway. They just +1 it. In the past I have gifted games such as Sanctum 2, Age of Empires 2, Portal 2 etc as I love those games and those are the games worth giving. The ones you feel are amazing.

As for discovering indie titles, like I said I got 1k in library and I have played a small fraction of it. I still have games like Ori and the will of the wisps, Cyberpunk 2077, Control, Bayonetta, Castlevania LOTS, Dishonored, Firewatch, Outer Wilds, Outer Worlds, etc, This is only what came on the top of my head right now. There are literally about 30 games I have on my to play list, but don't have time. And then I bought a VR headset and a dozen games with it, which I have yet to play. So trust me when I say that if you already have a decent library of games you want to play, spending money on random games is just not worth it. If it was something you really wanted.. sure. But in that case you can just purchase the bundle for that month.

No matter how you cut is, I really don't see the value there.

No. Depending on how the coupon worked for you, the money you would spend would be on the previous month or, if you already bought the previous month before applying the coupon, you could contact the support and you would get a coupon, which you could use in January, so you wouldn't have to spend any money at all if you weren't interested.

And I disagree on that. If there is a good game on the bundle, I can just purchase that for 12 bucks for that one month. Or I can buy it from someone on steamtrades for even less. So I really dont see the lure in paying money upfront for a chance to get a game I might like.

Yes, but you spend twice as much money, you could buy 2 months instead. (or anything else)
If you are going to buy it on steamtrades...
from what I read, you wouldn't be interested in a less-known indie game... so just to show, I chose PC Building Simulator from this month.
(keep in mind that you could find better deals if you look for longer)
I was looking for sellers, which had the games priced.
The best prices I found were:
5,25$
3 TF2 Keys - 1 is for ~1,95€ on the steam market ≐ $2,34 * 3 = $7.29
It would be better to buy the entire bundle with the discount, rather than buy a single game from steamtrades.
This is not an advertisement or a trading offer, it's just to prove my point.

spending money on random games is just not worth it.

I don't know how many times do I have to repeat myself, but you don't pay upfront. You pay when you already see what games you get.
If you aren't interested in the games, you can just pause and lose the discount.

I did that on this site initially, but realized that most people don't play what they win anyway. They just +1 it.

There is always someone, who would play the game if it's at least decent.
You obviously can't expect the random 0 level bots, to play the games you giveaway.
For such purposes, there are groups like Playing Appreciated.

Don't get me wrong, but you aren't the target customer for Humble Bundle or... any bundle site.
I just don't see the point of buying 30 good games (on sale or not), without the intention to play them in a month.
If you aren't going to play it soon, there will probably be a better deal for the game later on.

No matter how you cut is, I really don't see the value there.

You didn't provide any point I could argue with, the only ones you made were:

  • It wasn't worth it, because you have to pay upfront.

I already said before, that you don't.

  • It's not worth it, because the games are random/not known beforehand.

They are not.

  • I can just buy the game I would be interested in cheaper.

I hope I proved that this is not true.

  • It's not worth it, because I already have a big backlog

Sorry if I call it that, but that sounds like a "you problem". If you already bought 156810 games (for whatever reason), which you want to play, then, of course, there's no point in buying it. For you.
The thing that I was trying to prove was, that it's worth it. If you aren't going to buy it, even if there were the best games ever, just because you already bought some games... it doesn't mean it's not worth it.

tl;dr:
It's a good deal, because you literally get games for $0,5 each and they are not some random crappy games, which you could just buy for a dollar elsewhere, the value is there, even for just reselling.

Hey ,

We wanted to send a message to let you know we haven't forgotten you and we're incredibly sorry for the delay. We're experiencing a much higher volume of tickets than normal and all of our agents are working as quickly as possible to get to your request. Please hang tight and you should receive a reply soon.

During this time, please refrain from submitting new tickets. We answer all tickets in the order we receive them, regardless of issue, so creating new ones will not speed up the process. 1) Can I cancel it after 6 months, so I don't have to pay 'normal price' after 6 months?

Hello all, I have a question because of my inexperience. I subscribed for $6 two days ago, claimed my December games and today January's games come. My next billing date shows as January 29 according to subscription plan at Settings page. On the other hand at Choice page there is "Unlock my Choices" which tells me to pay $6. As I understand it means I can either pay now instead of waiting until January 29 to get the games immediately which means next billing will be updated to be February 29. Or I can wait till January 29, $6 will be drawn from my credit card automatically at that point and I will choose my games when it does. Am I right?

Yes, January 29 is an auto-charge date, you can wait until then, or pay early if you want to play now. If you unlock now, your next bill will be on February 26 (last Friday of month).

It shows the same for me, I subscribed 2 weeks ago for $6 for 6 months and it shows $6 through your link but it says "Sorry, as an active subscriber you cannot currently purchase a different subscription plan." So the coupon cannot be used.
And on another account it doesn't show the $6 offer and it shows 18 euro through your link.

Pretty sure it's an error, Humble won't show a banner 6 months in advance. It means that banner will be there for 6 months until 4 June and I really don't think is going to happen.

Maybe next week will show the same $6 for 6 months, but it will expire at beginning of February.

Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out to us! My name is Kasey and I am sincerely sorry for the trouble applying this promotion to your account during the time it was offered.

We recently had some time off for the holidays which made tackling issues such as this more difficult while many of our teams were out. While it unfortunately would not be possible for us to retroactively begin this promotion on your account starting in December, I've added a coupon to your account which will allow you to take advantage of the same promotion beginning with January's Choice.

That's now in your account, all you'd need to do in order to use that would be to manually complete a purchase of January's Choice before January 15th and you should see that coupon available on the checkout screen.

Let me know if I can be of assistance with anything else at all and I'm happy to help. Otherwise, I hope that you have a great rest of your day, stay safe!

All the best,

i bought this one from dec-may, if they put good games there(already DEC was meh, JAN was gooooood but not counting dec, as i get promo close to new year) i will get it again. at least 10 games for 6$? its 0,6 for one, even if its indie its still cheaper than dollar...

This month i took only Warhammer and PC BuildingSimulator(long time wishlisted) so its 3$ per those games...they were never cheaper...

But strange u see this on choice page, while i didnt see it

Strangely, imo the dec was a good one... (even paid the full price for that one..) i wasn't particularly happy about this month because i don't like the top 4 games, but the bottom ones are my thing. I am still debating whether to continue the subscription or not though; I was thinking to pause at some point because i don't want to add more games to my library... i got too many games to play atm, hahah.

Yeah, i thought they were extending the offer. I even thought they were planning to make it permanent like the grab 10 games thingy...
