hello! this is not steam related but maybe someone can give me some advices

so I have received in the middle of the night a mail from Origin saying I have activated an Origin Access Membership Code and that I'll get billed monthly once the trial is over.
The mail is legit but I have never subscribed or used any code as it staes in the mail, I barely even use Origin and I dont even have a payment method linked, do I have to suppose my mail/account have been compromised? or is it some kind of free trial Origin offers?
I've logged in to Origin and the subscription is indeed active. I cant find how to deactivate it tho :\

I'm still gonna change my mail and password and maybe contact EA but I'd thought of asking if it happened to anyone else!

oh ok if it's that it's good to know then! but it still sounds suspicious cause the mail talks of a code I have redeemed

It is related to this post : https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/6whu3/get-origin-access-free-for-a-month-by-enabling-two-factor-authentication

It is a free month for those who activated two factor authentification.

2FA is not just mobile, if you have it On for email before 1st Nov 2019 then you are eligible to 1 free month of Origin Access.

A lot of ppl around the web are complaining they haven't got it yet cause unfortunately EA is super slow in getting the free month for all 2FA enabled accounts

You can log in to Origin client or Origin.com form a web browser if you have the Origin Access Basic banner under your name then the email is 100% legit

Nice, enjoy it.. also you can cancel your subscription before the free month ends and you should still enjoy what left of it.

I would check for account activity - has anyone been playing games on your Origin account? Otherwise I imagine EA have activated it by mistake.

I got this too (even if I didn't activate it, still I have 2FA on my account), but I'm to lazy to check, since now I have 1 more week the Xbox acces pass or how it's called (FH4 FTW!).
If the pass work in same way as Xbox's one, I`ll try NFS Heat later...

Yep. I got it too and I've been ignoring their two-factor authentication pleas. The billing plan says "non-recurring" so it doesn't look like they're trying anything sneaky. Earlier in the year, I did the free trial month and also cashed in a free 1-month code so perhaps it's a bonus reward for people who did one of those things?
