There are a few games that get a pretty interesting reboot, but may not be in the favor of many and then there are series that just keep on going, but feel so repetitive and exhausting to play. What franchise would you like to see a reboot on and how would you like them to change?

There needs to be another legacy of Kain game, the way action adventures are developed now would work well with that world. Platforming is better, combat is better, games have come a long way in all the main gameplay points of that series.
I've not yet played the series and I believe that any old game from the early 2000, that was successful back then, should slowly get a rework with today's standard mecanics.
Mario tbh.. He needs to go back to his roots..
I've played Super Mario back in the late 90's. I didn't play the new ones. You don't like the 3D platformer?
I mostly don't like that most newer titles are not side scrolling. I don't think Mario and depth of field go together (moving towards or backwards from the screen) and I also don't like that it's not "Mario" anymore but "Mario Universe".
Same thing can be said for Sonic but Sonic is a veeeery hurtful conversation as he has 783783673 more problems than Mario has.
Have you tried Mario Odyssey? If you haven't, and can, definitely give a try. It doesn't feel awkward at all like sometimes 3D World does. It is also an amazing game
Agreed, I don't think there are many Sonic games that were fun and visually appealing at the same time. Mario beats Sonic without a doubt. I need to try the new Mario's honestly as I never gave it a chance since I was a kid.
-The adventure of robin hood,CaptainBlood,Warlords (amiga500)
-Legacy of Kain soul reaver
-Half Life but not VR
-Jax & Daxter, ico, shadow of the colossus
-Alien Vs Predator
-King Kong 2 (based in the release for the old xbox)
-Ken Shiro \ Hokuto No Ken \ First of the north star , but must to be A well done game an adventure same as DBZK or one piece world seeker and not a mousou\pakinko game sadly all games they make about it untl now it's low quality game
-A game about POPEYE but must to be adventure same tomb raider\onepws\dbzk etc.
-The first deus ex but updated in gameplay\graphic\physic
-GhostBuster and Back to future but must be adventure very top\high quality
-Kameo elements of power
-Blade of Darkness\Blade of Darkness , i like about this game the fact that you can hit the enemy by choose the direction of the hit
-i dream also, that all Figthing Games ( mortal kombat and killer instinct etc.) will be remaked but by be LIMITED only to can use "BASE moves" i mean WITHOUT any hit\hits.
-a fight game where Robots fight each other,
BUT when they hit other robot lose parts (arms legs etc) and when win will be rewarded with money then with money can buy new body parts\weapons or repair damaged parts (this has existed for amiga but i forget the name)
-Flatout but must to be a 100\10 game quality, the top of the top, better than forza horzon etc.
-Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts but with today "Trailmakers" building engine
-Omikron the nomad soul and messiah (both games have fun about can send the spirit in others people and move them,a little bit same in ghost.10 and some oddworld videogames)
i dream also that Astroneer,EliteDangerous and Nomansky become only 1 single game, where people can do all the things of all 3.
And until little years ago i alwas dream a new tenchu will be maked, but then my dream become true with sekiro shadows die twice, and what is incredible is the game can be played on PC too (not a playstation exclusive) i can't believe it until now :D,the same i can say about elite dangerous i wait an elite for pc for many years and this too i can't believe when i saw the kickstarter i jump on my chair for happness and scream run around my room + outside road too hahahaha.
The NewZealand Story
i will add others later
There's a Mod called Black Mesa that became a game that remade Half Life, but an official one would be amazing! 🙌🏻
I really miss Splinter Cell, I feel that the series just fell off as Assassin's Creed raised and kill both SC and Prince of Persia.
Yes i buy black mesa just little months ago but sadly can't play it until now , i agree all with you , and i add that also a remake\reboot of the fiirst AC\POP would be welcome too but with upgraded graphic\gameplay mechanics (With a little of stealth moves\whistles + grab enemy physic bodies)
That's a sure long and interesting set of games you'd like to see. Nice stuff though! 👍🏻
thank you added
The NewZealand Story
Splinter Cell holy shit I had completely forgotten about that. I don't like stealth games generally but I loved every single day of my youth I played that game on the Xbox. Original Xbox.
Original BestBox ! the 3D dash surfing was awesome BTW more than the actual haha
I can't be the only one who felt that games felt more special when you were younger. I mean, there are a few games that really impress me nowadays. Visuals aren't enough, gameplay is what really needs to be there.
Monsters Lab sort of has that mechanic where the parts break off.
It's a PS2 era game though, also has a DS version which is bleh. But the PS2 game was quite fun.
Oh and a GBA game you might like would be the Medabots game.
You build a robot out of different head, arm, torso, and leg pieces and then enter battle with them (its turn based) and then your parts can break in battle and you will win new parts that you can equip on your medabot.
You get GBA emulators for PC and phone if you are interested in playing that game.
The PS2 era was a good time for gaming.
Good list, of these games I'd probably love a Jak and Daxter remake/ sequels the most but also the Deus Ex remake.
Not so much a reboot as a remake, of Dune 1
I never played the game, but seen it a couple of times. A honest reboot of old RTS's is so needed.
Dune 1 wasn't RTS, you're thinking Dune 2 like @Gezzaia said :D
Oh I see, then I must have made a mistake then.
It looked like this: https://web.archive.org/web/20160331011936/https://www.wiki4games.com/Dune#Screenshots 👀
People always gush over Dune 2. I'm so glad to see some enthusiasm for 1. That game was so amazing and atmospheric.
Yeah and on the contrary I never really liked Dune 2... It was a precursor in its genre, or so I heard, but it aged very quickly IMO
Completely agree. :)
Even when it was new you could really feel where many very simple improvements were needed. "Why can't I just select and order a group of units instead of having to to it one at a time?" "Why to I always have to click 'move' or 'attack' before giving an order when it's obvious what I want from context?" "Why can't it start building the next concrete slab while it's waiting for me to place this one?" "In fact, why not just let me be able to place a queue of concrete slabs in advance and have the construction yard construct and place them by itself in its own time?" and "Why do we even need concrete slabs in this game anyway?"
Heroes of Might and Magic series. Take it away from Ubi and give to a company that cares
Maaaan, I miss the series so bad. I really enjoyed it until the 5th installment. What about you?
Same. People for some reason diss on H4 but I thought it was really cool, actually had some change while still keeping mostly the same
What really became a bummer for me was not the graphics, but the fact that they were eager to remove key features and factions and add them as DLC's. To the point that the bare bone of the game was having just a few factions. It really felt cash grabby for me.
Exactly this. It can't be reborn as long as it stays in Ubisoft's hands.
Unless the new team looks for ways to improve on the mistakes they did in the past. You gotta understand that it's not the same team anymore.
The issue is not who does it, but that Ubisoft just doesn't care and doesn't let any teams have a decent budget while still forcing them to go quickly. Heroes 7 would be a solid game if some money was actually thrown on betatests. But these games' budgets are likely comparable to indies while having no artistic freedom of indies
True that! 😕
This. (I also wouldn't mind a new good Might and Magic game, too.)
And I also don't get the H4 hate, it's a pretty good game.
Privateer. Back when you had to lead your shots and hope the AI didnt make a sudden turn.
Where did you play Privateer on?
It was an old PC game from the 90's the first game was for dos and the second came out for windows
Ah I see, interesting. I didn't see it on Steam. 😅
SMAC! A true reboot, with all the complex lore and interlocking elements (e.g. the consciousness cycle of Planet). The opposite of that wishy-washy attempt called Beyond Earth.
It was still an interesting approach to Civilizations I think. 👍🏻
Pandora: First Contact is a better SMAC clone than Beyond Earth.
I meant to play it, but discarded it because of the generally lukewarm reception. I'll look into it again.
Good suggestion and alternative. 👍🏻
F-Zero (reboot, remake, sequel, prequel I don't care, I just want a new game)
Not sure I know the game. 🤔🤷🏻♂️
its a cult game from SNES this was a gem in 90'
Ah I see, I have seen similar games with similar concepts I think. I can't tell you the name as I don't play many racing games nowadays.
A bit modern, but the Forza Horizon series. It’s gotten worse with every entry, as they keep trying to 1-up the last game. Would love to see it (or another series), revisit the festival feel of Horizon 1, that’s now nonexistent in the new games.
Didn't play yet the series, but games like that who are growing from year to year lose some of it's key features that made it once special.
Tony Hawk's Underground- go the Skate route, get granular and make flip tricks and flatland feel like accomplishments while reintroducing a campy open-world story
SOCOM- lethality, tactics, positioning, teamwork, circle strafe kills. honestly, i think it'd be cool if they did an xcom style spinoff too
Clay Fighter- can you imagine what they could do with stop motion 4k/60fps fighting game in 2022? holy hell it could look cool.
Game Dev Story- honestly, it could be a sequel, but I'd rather have it greatly expanded with a much bigger budget, integrate the idea of influencer deals, product placement, reverse engineering, mock reviews, pc storefront exclusivity deals, console exclusivity deals, handling pr in terms of crunch, harassment, delays, unionization, console wars, indie revivals, and every granular decision that people who are obsessed with the gaming industry would be interested in.
That's all i can think of right now with a decent pitch
You introduced me to new games I don't remember knowing about. Thank you! 🙌🏻
the first underground really was great, having a story changed a lot to previous tony hawks, it will always have a place in my memory
I need to play the new Tony Hawks reboots, I really loved the series as a kid. Idk, back in the early 2000's having cool-looking cars and skateboarding was so cool. I also enjoyed the early times of NBA when you did Street Basketball.
Hydro Thunder, or at last a new good arcade racing game with boat
Played Hydro Thunder on PS2, that was a really good experiment for me, good level design and simple to play, hard to master.
Don't play the Reboot in 2010, because of Microsoft / XBOX360 exclusive
I know there Riptide Renegade on steam actually, but that port of a android game + low content (9 tracks only)
Will be really happy to see indie / AAA Games on this theme with a good content and with mod / steamworshop if possible (Mod and steamworshop could make the game live for years and become a masterpiece for me like Ballistic NG or Distance, because of huge / endless content, discover awesome news tracks each month)
These are some good game suggestions. I like that you listed some that aren't so popular.
all spider-man series, twd survival instinct
The newest ones, although I didn't play, are amazing. But if we could get a remastered version of the old ones with this new style on the PS5 it would be amazing.
I dunno. Megaman?
Classic game for sure, would lose to see a more mature way of introducing the Megaman, what do you think?
I do remember a cancelled Megaman first person shooter spin-off, could have been cool.
Tenchu series from PS1-PS2 days
I never played them, but this would be an amazing thing to be able to replay.
i agree with Trenning they is very very beautiful stealth, Sekiro Shadows Die Twice (very beautiful stealth same tenchu) for today PC come from them , if tenchu not exist before then today we not have sekiro,i play many years tenchu very beautiful.
Kid Icarus desperately needs a modern day reboot centered around the classic title but in a more open-world / 3D (perhaps 4D? don't ask I'm just the imaginator) environment.
Earthworm Jim also needs a healthy reboot/reimagining. Douglas TenNaple has mentioned a bit ago that they were working on a new project, and I've seen some WIP videos so that might be on the horizon soon.
Bonanza Bros would be a neat idea for a combo wombo co-op stealth heist game. With the environments and buildings that can be rendered these days, there's a limitless possibility for such a simple game.
You can't go wrong with that! 🙌🏻
Earthworm Jim was so much fun, it would be a great reboot.
Intellivision Amico exlcusive
I remember now. We'll see what happens, nothing new on the news front. Even after all of these years they haven't lost their charm.
my life with multiple saves, stat respecs, loot boxes and DLC so you lot can do your own too
🤣 It can get better from here on you know? Look how far you've got!
it's The Sims hahaha
Haunting Ground! I've only watched a playthrough of it a while back, but it's amazing - a survival horror with puzzles, multiple endings and downright awesome enemy-related background music? Sign me the hell up!
Ah the times of PlayStation 2 🥰 Good times
Black & White... Then again, it's owned by EA so maybe it's better for it to stay forgotten. :/
I really enjoyed the game and I thought it was super fun. Nowadays with the technology, we have this would be a great game if effort would be put on.
If Electronic Arts made a Black & White game today, it would be a mobile game knock-off where charging a miracle takes real life hours and you could fast-forward it with their handy-dandy premium currency... just to cast a single Water miracle to make trees (which would also take real life days to grow) grow faster. :)
(If that sounds exaggerated, Dungeon Keeper Mobile proved that no low is too low for them.)
So, yeah, our only hope for a true Black & White spiritual successor are Indie devs. (And that they'll actually put a effort into it to avoid it becoming a horrible disaster like Godus or Idol Hands...)
I agree with you. The thing is that a lot of developing teams risk going with EA or other major publishers because they are promised to get paid at the end of their work. I honestly think that nowadays any company can publish itself as Indie and prosper a lot better. Steam and other platforms permit that.
Zombies ate my neighbors.
Never played it, but the name is hilarious. 😆
It was on the Genesis and SNES, from LucasArts, it was amazing!
These games need a reboot they were so enjoyable back in the day:
Legacy of kain
Age of Mythology
Boiling Point road to hell
Prince of persia
Prince of Persia is coming soon, what do you think of the approach?
Its not the continuation of the story just an overpriced mediocre looking remake which has been delayed for a while now
Honestly i wouldn't get my hopes up
What I want to see is a reboot that brings more to the game than just visually changing the game. We would have now the possibility to get some awesome gameplay and use the Sands of Time in a different way by playing with the Time.
Even tho there's barely any chance, BLOODY ROAR
I'd be on board with that.
To be honest, I haven't seen many fighting games and we definitely need more as the Tekken, Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat are amazing, but surely more are welcomed. 🙌🏻
The Operative: No One Lives Forever?
Yep. And its sequel No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy in H.A.R.M.'s Way
Anything from the Command and Conquer series. Red Alert, Tiberium universe, or even Generals and Zero Hour (my personal favorites). In fact, just give us something, anything, that's not a mobile game please.
The series needs a reboot or a sequel, without a doubt.
A lot of the old RPG's like Arx Fatalis would make a cool reboot I think.
True, RPG's need more love 🙌🏻
Sid Meier's Pirates!
YES! Would love that! 🥰
