I undestand the logic for cards, but what the hell do achievements have to do with refunds ?

there is a solution for cards ;) if you have multiple games to farm cards, before starting idling or launching idle master or whatever - launch as many instances as you wish from games to get cards using SAM - with it without using any serious PC resources you can simulate running even 20-30 games at the same time - so in 2h you don't have one of your games ready to idle but all of them. Then start idling normally ;) if you only have 2 games to farm cards it will save you 2h, but if you have 10 games it will be saving you 18h already :>

Oh my, that's awesome ! but isn't that against rules\ToS\or something like that ?

if you try to use SAM in some game to unlock achievments it may be breaking this game rules - so if you try to use it while let's say playing CS:GO on VAC protected server you may get a VAC ban on CS:GO.
But as long as you're only farming time - no. It will only look like you have launched the game. And there's nothing prohibiting you from having multiple steam games launched at the same time (for example a lot of ppl run Clicker Heroes in the background while playing other titles).

Wow, I've never seen such thing, except where the devs doesn't want to interrupt your game with achis, so they make that they only pop up, when you re-launch the game. Happened to me with TBoI, but since they applied this new refund system, they changed the card drop rate, so they only start dropping after you spent 2 hrs with the game. This achievement thing is a bit weird, but totally understandable. So this could mean, that as long as you don't have any achies in the game, you are free to refund it, but after the 2 hr mark, you get them. Strange, but understandable.

That's not the case, I was fighting a boss xD,
anyway Volvo could simply delete achiev after a refund :\

I don't have this problem, but some games only unlock achievements when you exit the game. Maybe that was it ?

You sure it wasn't a one-time fluke with the client dropping connection? I'd absolutely love a feature like this to not mess up my global achievement rate if I find a game terrible (like I did with Sanctum…), but I haven't experienced even remotely similar in the past days.

I don't have Google fiber, but it's quite stable, and after a "dafuq !?" I've checked the game-time and was exactly 2 hours

Did you tried today and with a game with less than 2h of playtime?

Yep, I've just unlocked an achiev for A Bird Story, that was probably a steam problem\my connection problem\how that game handles achievements

The game in question batch-unlocks achievements. there is currently no lock on when a person can earn an achievement unless the achievement is, itself, time based. Look on ASTATS.

last game i started instantly dropped achievements. not time based

I unlocked something like ~10 achievements in a row after the 2h mark.
Is that a new think ? IIRC a few days ago I played Universe Sandbox and I unlocked some achievements (before the 2h "mark")
Edit: looks like nothing is changed, I was wrong, sorry :c
