Well, If My Heart Had Wings has a smartphone version available for free. (It's not the entire game, but it should be enough to check out the translation quality - I myself thought that it was okay, but I read that the translation + the censorship makes some of the NSFW endings kinda confusing)
If I remember correctly, there is a fan-made translation + uncensor patch available, so it may be worth buying, if you are interested in it.

It has 500 000+ downloads and rating of 4.5 stars, so I would say it was/is quite successful, or at least so it seems.
It probably wasn't that hard to port it to other platforms (because it's literally just a bunch of text), so they just did it... because they could...?
Also, the way they make you purchase the full game is quite interesting. (I don't know if you have played it, so I will try to describe it shortly)
Basically, they let you play the game, long enough for you to immerse in the story and then BAM, the paywall appears. If you want to know how the story ends (and if you want to reach one of your desired endings) then you have to pay. - That is probably very effective.
All in all, they just relased it there for money... and it works.

Half of it is memorizing the alphabet and knowing common words. It helps if the VN is voiced, for an easier time with kanji if needed, but it's not a huge deal if you can't read some of them, the gist of it is there, some have annotations with hiragana sounds over tough kanji as well. Or you can always search up a word/sentence you don't know.
Yeah, VNs tend to take long. I find that it's not good for me to alternate between games because I forget the choices and hints for each route and then waste time have to backtrack. The only reason I'd do ALL routes is if I know there's a true ending, I've skipped character routes before because it seemed generic extras.

I don't add patches because i'm an achievement hunter and that typically prevents achievements from popping, but every VN I played I did enjoy.
If you enjoy VN's, I recommend getting this bundle for A Sky Full of Stars and If my Heart had Wings, and Adventure of a Lifetime. Everything else is just a bonus.
T1 is a fantastic deal, not sure about T2.

My fingers are itching to buy tier 2 on Steam as I own all of tier 1... 1,65€ doesn't feel bad at all. But I haven't read the first game yet ever since I bought it in February last year. But it's 1,65. But what if I don't enjoy the first game? However, it is 1,65. Can someone give me an opinion on what to do? :D

Most of us have bought lots of stuff on Steam that we've never played and never will. What's another one at that low of a cost?
And it's skippable for achievements, if you're into those and don't like the first one(but I don't know if you're in the achievement hunter type group or not). Then you have it ready for if you do like the first game too.
