It's too expensive to unlock bids, it ruins any part of fun.
"When the timer reaches zero, the three gamers who bid the highest will get the game. In case of a draw, the bid placed first wins."
3 copies of each game no wonder nobody could get anything in the previous weeks if that's the amount they are putting out.
Oh god ,that sounds awful ,dump all your points for nothing in return.
If i paid for them i might be pissed :P
i know one that got 20 games last weekend... (i think with a script but don't know it for sure)
and yes he uses a lot of multiaccounts :o(
The thing I'm not entirely keen on is that there only really 3 keys per game. For example, if a bot bids the max amount of krowns immediately as the game goes up, they'll get the game. The persons or bots who bid first, second, third, then will get the game.
If they implement any bid amount from the start - yes, it's true. Maybe they implement something smart.
It doesn't make sense that you would lose your coins if you don't win the auction, as others have presumed.
Their blog says you'll lose the krowns needed to unlock the bid (150 according to other users) so you'll kinda lose a significant amount just for trying
Yah, that's stupid. Might end up losing all your crowns and not getting a damn thing.
How ironic. I suggested the raffle/auction style here a couple of weeks ago. And here they used it. I know it wasn't because of me, I just find it ironic.
Surely this will make things worse? I'm sure bots can still be modified to bid, and this will just favour multi accounts - which most likely are bots in the first place! Unless they're hoping it gets out of control and they lose their stockpiled thousands of coins week 1 and we all get a chance week 2.
How can they say timing doesn't really matter either? Sniping bids at the last minute will be very important. The person winning 30 seconds from the end is unlikely to get anything.
1 First, choose which game(s) you’d like to bid for and unlock individual bids for a small amount of NinjaKrowns.
2 Then, choose the amount of NinjaKrowns you’d like put up for each title.
3 When the timer reaches zero, the three gamers who bid the highest will get the game. In case of a draw, the bid placed first wins.
4 If you make a bid and someone tops it, you can always put up additional NinjaKrowns.
4 is interesting.
Also, they need to stop multi-accounters. But multis also have multiple steam accounts, so cannot be easily stopped.
So they basically went from being possible to get one free game, every hour, for the entire weekend to maybe, possibly getting the chance of a free game across multiple weeks of daily points hoarding, with a guaranteed way to burn through your NJKs even if you get nothing in return.
And all of that instead of adding a basic captcha per each buy button with simple server side validation of the captcha code to belong to that buy button for that round. A 15 minute job to get rid of the problem and the bots.
At least they admit they only have 3 keys per game, per round which is believable and sustainable as a way of spending some of their marketing funds.
Wow, 3 games per hour for thousands of users and the highest 3 bids win.
This is going to be so pointless with all the ninja krown hoarders. :o
Even Google Recaptcha3 could be bypassed, but at least not all bots are smart enough to bypass it.
Why just don’t make some quiz about certain game you’re trying to get?
15 questions, and time limit for each question 10 seconds to avoid googling.
And 3 winners (random.org in case of >3).
Then apply same system, that each entry costs same price as it was before, like Mortal Kombat X - 450 points.
But make a penalty for those who scored less than half, and half of questions should be really easy like:
D. I am stupid bot
With 3 keys per game not even the best captcha in the world would make any difference :). That would have been useful in the context of those 25000 keys they claimed to have given, although that number was suspiciously high to be sustainable from a business perspective.
oh come one, there were so many crappy games with almost no value at all, and just in case you missed that, but they make enough profit a year to compensate ~25k keys.
At least there will be no more...
Hahaha so all the days of points I have tried to get will disappear trying to even attempt a bid. Not worth bothering. :(
I still think the raffle system is better.
TLDR:you bet your krowns and highest bidders get the game.
Aside from krowns required to unlock bid, you will get back your krowns from bids you lose.
But won't multiple bots accounts have higher chance? They have most likely more krowns than normal user not mention with multiple accounts they can probably bid for every game...
It doesn't really solve the core problem of bots, may be slow internet connection but not with bot. Well, we will see how this turns out.
Can't log in.. Well..
Site is working. Maybe you have VPN turn on - with active VPN connection site don't allow to login (at least for me site don't show my balance if I forgot to turn VPN off).
Just tried now, it logged in. Don't have VPN on, just some issues at the time I guess. But man that was embarrassing, after that long comment it didn't let me log in ;p
I highly doubt I can get anything good with just 650 coins in this bidding system, but we will see. I managed to get something every single week, so I can't complain if I get nothing now.
EDIT: "3 highest bidders win the game" xDDDD we finally see how many keys per game they gave away I guess
Also, unlocking bids is non-refundable ? The way I understand it is you only get refunded the coins you bid. Unlocking a bid is not bidding. I'm staying away from this.
I wonder if the bids start with the ammount of krowns you spent to unlock the bid.For example: if the unlock is 400 krowns and you up the bid with 50 krowns, your bid would be 450 krowns?
unlock bids 400????
gz to the multiaccounts..........
For the king, Blood bowl chaos edition, Assassins creed brotherhood deluxe uplay, fallout 3, batman origins, watchdogs uplay, lust for darkness. 7 games. 1pm UK start.
Wow those bids are high
People have been hoarding koins from the previous weeks. The bots have yet to strike so far.
Got 600 krowns and I'm not sureI can win any
All you can do is try. I have 900 to lose all my bids with.
We've not been hoarding them. Kinguin made it impossible to spend them ^^
400 njk just to unlock bid. OUCH!
Should start at 10 to a maximum of 50 (maybe 100 IF the game is really good)
On the other hand this might block people from entering too many games
It might also prevent people from bidding on that one game they really want.
For example: if you only have 600 njk & the unlock fee is 200, you only have 400 left to actually bid with. Good chance someone else is gonna out bid you. Then... not only are you not getting the game, you're also out 200 njk so next round, you only have 400 to work with.
so i need to unlock the game before the bidding things?
yes, you need to unlock bid. After unlocking you can make your bid
So price will be = unlock_bid + your_bid
If you didn't win only your_bid will be refunded
so i wont loss any Krowns?
or i only loss unlock_bid?
You will loose only krowns for unlocking bid
anyway you can add top bid from last round, so we are having an idea for how high can the bid goes?
thank in advance
I like this. I may finally be able to grab something I want with the 1100 koins I have not been able to spend ;P
Wasn't Watch Dogs literally free on Uplay some times ago?
If People are bidding 900 krowns on a free game I don't want to know what they will bid when good games will come up
1275 on Nier
But it is a wrong assumption to think that everyone got something that once was free, especially better games are still in demand.
smart people will bid in the last minute so they make sure they dont get overbid , dont count on that 1275 too much
would need to have more coins first
Well it looks like I'm not going to enter anything this week.
Nier Automata finally showed up but guess what. A dude just bid for 1000 krowns.
1075 now higher bid
edit 1275….. AND the can add More coins to the bid en the last minutes
Kinguin: "Everybody gets the same chance of winning."
yeah, they are probably in humorous mood
I've been researching this one. It looks like they're offering the Day One version? What's the difference between this and the YoRHa edition?
YoRHa also includes 1 dlc
Yes, and apparently some preorder stuff (wallpapers, I think, and some skins? Maybe not the skins but the wallpapers, for sure) that the Day One version isn't able to get.
...and thus this fact takes me out of the running on the Crazy Free Weekend NieR sweepstakes.
It would've been my #1 target otherwise!
yeah, i got 650 krows anyway and even previously free stuff like F1 2015 get very expensive bids, so probably skip this weekend. Bots with tons of krows are relentless(
Time to save!
Scammers with 1000 and more Ninja Crowns must be banned.
I have more than 1000 NJK, what then? I've been saving them and logging in each day, who you callin scammer >.<
I've been collecting them as well, but I'm not a scammer =(
Ok. I believe you. But most often it is users with multiple accounts(99,99%).
P.S. Beautiful avatar. I wish you win the AAA game :)
Haha thank you. =)
I'm not after an AAA game actually, my laptop wouldn't run it anyways =P
The profile art is from Jen Bartel, she's great! You should check her out =)
I have already checked and found there a pink fox :з I'm sick of penguins...
