So Corona has become a massive nightmare and worldwide lockdowns. certain industries like shops, travel, hotels, hospitality is hit hard. If the damn crap isn't controlled in next 30 days a long spell of recession and layoffs seems inevitable. Will you buy games or hold on to that dollar uncertain? Does this spell bad news for onl;ine games sales also?

My personal gut feeling? We are at tip of iceburg stage. In a months time either we can assume things will return to normnal or face worldwide casuality in millions. My advice sincere is avoid buying a month wait and watch. The economy will stay down almost 2 years.

Will You Buy games Bundles

View Results
Yes I worry not.
No Saving for tomorrow even a $ counts

I'll still buy bundles, but you can bet I'm grabbing every game I can get my hands on thats free. This is a worldwide event that'll never be the same again. Like if a pandemic happens next year, or 5 years from now, the freebies from the gaming community I don't feel will be as mountainous as it is now. So like the gluttonous pig I am, I'm taking advantage of that.

Nevertheless, I only tend to buy bundles that are under $5 or have a lot I'm interested in.

It depends on the bundles and games, I can't say now what games and/or bundles get massive discounts so I can't say if I will buy any or not either...

Working in a digital agency the lockdown luckily doesn't change too much for me. I'm still able to work from home and will be able to pay my bills. This also includes buying bundles.
By not having to drive to work and being able to work from home I even got like 3 more hours of spare time each day so beside getting some more sleep I got more time I can invest into playing games. :3 (priority is taking care of my backlog tho)

No, but not because of this reason.

It will take several lockdowns to finish my backlog :D

I have huge backlog, so i doubt it will affect my bundle buys. I see no need to buy many games right now for myself, i will buy for gibs. Maybe if some dirt-cheap deal on a wishlisted game happen i will grab it. But right now i have steam library, humble choice subscription and Win Game Pass and its more than enough.

Probably not anytime soon, being a mexican my currency had a rough week as it decreased almost a 20% compared to usd, so unless a sick bundle its offered, I will just wait for all of this to lockdown thing to pass and buy wherever its cheaper, probably directly on Steam.

I am not allowed to work. I don't have much money left. I have no idea what I will eat next week. No game purchases for me anymore.

I hope people are smarter than that, and will use forced downtime for learning, training etc. Especially if hard economical times are coming, it's wise to invest in yourself instead of just sitting around and playing all day.

Who am I kidding, though?

My funds have gone down about $36 872. Personally this doesnt affect me that much and is just an inconvenience. I will wait patiently until it goes up again.
I hope the market will be better soon and that more people get cured and dont loose their job. Not good for anyone to be in a potential recession.

On topic about buying games. I will continue as usual. I have a huge backlog so will only buy if I really want something or if its cheap :)

I've actually been buying more games than usual in the past month. Bundled and unbundled. The stress relief is worth more than those few bucks.

For me is important save for food and resources, some games maybe will be free and save any buck is priority.

For Europeans: did't spend money, maybe some markets will be left some products.
In Brazil, my country is starting the epidemic, but is better stay alert.

I have a lot of games which I still want to play, there is really no need to buy new ones, sadly sometimes if there's a good bundle it adds to the backlog of games. Sadly even during Corona times I can't really find time to play enough ^^ Too much stuff to do.
