Do I need to have solved the earlier chapters to be able to solve this or can I just jump in cold at this point?

Currently at 12/16. I think I know everything I need to find, based off your clues:
Second fish, moss, sulfur, getting back to the tower first, which I bet involves finding these things
Kinda lost on where to find them, but I guess now is time to scour the images and try to decode things. I know one photo has something going on, but have no idea what to do with it.

Can't figure out how to find the missing ingredients yet, but I'll keep working on it ;) Thanks for the GAs and puzzles!

16/16 finally done, I was being so careful investigating everything but I guess I forgot to do it properly in one part. dobeduck talking about lightning in a reply to gordons bump for adding chapter 4 actually helped in knowing where i fucked up.

Hey, can you post answers for chapter 3 now?

What was the language with 4 horizontal lines? I thought to try to convert to binary but it didn't work for me.

How do you open the chest? I found /chests/chests.txt or whatever in the image file, but when I tried putting that at the end of your dropbox, it didn't lead me anywhere.

How do you use the Workbench/Potion brewing kit? I saw I needed Water, Toe of Frog, and Glass Shard... but all I had was "Water" from my Canteen.

bump for 16/16! Btw, I will be on military duty from April 5 to May 1, so I wont be able to see the finale. Therefore, I have to give you a early thank for this great story and all these puzzles. Thanks for this very fun and challenging adventure!

I cannot for the life of me find the second fish. Any small hints? I've been staring and changing levels, exposure and brightness at those images for more than I'd like to confess. I think I even have the forest fully mapped out in my brain at this point 😅
