What is your favorite MMO?
I recommend Warframe and Defiance. Both are on Steam and have good graphics and fun action gameplay. For me gameplay like that is important, because it means the gameplay is fun on it's own and the game doesn't get stale quite so quickly when you're grinding. Warframe lets you be a space ninja and run on walls and do flips while shooting swarms of enemies or chopping them up and there's tons of content to work through. And you can trade for premium currency so it's always possible to get everything without spending real money. Defiance lets you drive a car around an open world, jump in on random world events with a bunch of other players, and collect cool guns to shoot things with.
If you wanted to add me on Steam I'd be into playing either of those games with you. Warframe I've probably spent more time playing than any other game ever. That's the main drawback of MMORPGs in my mind, they never end, you either play them until you get bored, or sink way too much time into them before the game just dies and the servers go down. You never get the satisfaction of beating them like you might with a game that has a good story campaign. If not for MMORPGs I'd have worked through a lot more of my backlog. But they are still fun, in an addictive sort of way.
Recently I also had fun with Neverwinter but coming back to it after leaving for a while I can't remember which NPCS I'm supposed to go to in the main town and it's super confusing to get back into after forgetting everything. Guild Wars 2 is definitely good, and one of the few pay to play MMORPGs I'll play, largely because there is no subscription (I don't think subscriptions are worth is when there's so many unplayed games in my library and so many really good free games.) I also played Blade and Soul for a bit but didn't get too into it, but it has a cool korean martial arts fantasy thing going on.

TERA! It got me into MMORPGs. It's great for its extreme simplicity and very satisfying "ARPG" combat style. Guild Wars 2 goes second, as I didn't like it at first, until I got tired of TERA and decided to give it another try.

Guild Wars 2 is pretty good, SWTOR is good only if you are willing to pay the monthly fee, no MMO will ever be City of Heroes/Villains it seems sadly lol Star Trek Online is actually very good too, it's vastly better than when it was originally released

Yeah elder scrolls to me wasn't that bad... the only thing I hated about it was the size it takes to install it.
I had to uninstall it to make room for some other games that I have gotten, I am glad that ESO finally went buy to play over sub since otherwise I probably wouldn't have tried it at all.

I love trying new game genres but one genre I could never understand is MMOs. I tried a few and they were incredibly confusing.
Does anyone know any good MMO's for beginners? Preferably ones on steam. I'll also take MMORPG suggestions since I honestly don't know the difference between the two.
lvl 2 gib lvl 1 gib
Also I hope the poll isn't incorrect. I just googled popular ones :)
Hope everyone has a good week!
