I traded with a guy for a non-steam key for once, except he told me beforehand and I was okay with it.

can i report him to steam? i still have the chatlog with him and he went offline etc. when i showed him the responses here ;).

i jsut saved the whole chat log and also have my forge key there and his fake key for illegal version, can i write to steam so they deactivate the forge key and block him maybe?

In theory he gave you a key for the game but still not what you expected. You have the right to report him though.

There are plenty of people trading GFWL keys on SteamTrades. If he did not tell you before the trade that the key he is giving you is for GFWL, I would report him to the various Steam anti-scammer sites. Misleading someone is a form of scamming.

As it is your money, do what you feel is justified.

is a problem that windows live has, I buy gta4 retail and with the same GTA game code can activate Gears of War and Resident Evil 5, i think they share keys or something, i don't know,it's a problem with windows live

if he told you that you had to go to skidrow and get something to make the game work then thats a red flag cause skidrow is a piracy group. you need to go to steamtrades support and give them the chat log and also remove all reference to the guys name from this thread or just delete the thread entirely. it is against rules here to tell name of the scammer, aka name and shame.

you have all the info you need from forums now just deal with support staff.

if you have clear retail proof of purchase of the forge key you could in theory report to steam to prove you own the key and get it removed from his account.
