Did I break some unwritten (or written) rule?

Why people hate me?
if u install ESGT, there's an option to hide blacklist stats

You don't have to do something wrong to be blacklisted, although making a comment that everyone disagrees with or asking why you are blacklisted a lot is one sure way to get blacklisted a lot.
It's also very quick and easy to blacklist someone that gives away a lot of low-value trash games, and it can remove a significant amount of junk from the front page in one quick move. I hide all games individually instead but I can certainly see the temptation to just blacklist some people who give away a lot of trash at the same time. But there are also people who want that trash since all they care about is a +1 on their steam account, so don't let that discourage you. There is no way you can please everyone, so some blacklists are inevitable.

I got a blacklist recently for a posting in a thread a gif of Bobby Hill eating popcorn, made me lol. I think they are inevitable unless you give a ton of AAA games and never comment anything but "thank you", even then you might get some. That's a lot of blacklists for five comments though, at least four of them were completely sweet and innocent I couldn't find the fifth :P
Just ignore the blacklists, all it means is some stuck up people can't enter your giveaways. Like Mihey said, install ESGT if they bother you and it's basically like they never happened. All that really matter are your whitelists that let you enter giveaways with better odds

Actually blacklisting the games instead of the user is easier, because there are tons of people to giveaway crap. However, I agree with your point

Absolutely understandable.
I prefer blacklisting games than users as someone below said. Trashy games comes from cheap bundles so many people will aquire them and then make giveaway out of it. So in longer run its better to exclude these games :)

You won't see any of his giveaways, decent or otherwise, so what difference does it make now?
I think it is more efficient to simply hide the games that you don't want to see so that they don't show up if any of the hundreds of thousands of other users give them away.

If this was directed at me, the reason i blacklisted the user was because they were the only person giving these games away.
I agree, It would have made sense to hide the games if there were lots of GAs for those games, but there weren't.
3 clicks instead of 16 or something, which is easier?
But again, I was just sharing my reason, it's not like I hate someone just cos I happen to blacklist them.
People are going to judge people for whatever reason they want, it's just human nature.

Having a fast look at your profile, it may be that they don't like the many games you give away, so, instead of using some ESGST filters to hide them (maybe they don't want to use this tool), they simply blacklist you and get rid of your giveaways. Maybe they're all blacklisting you now because they saw many giveaways from you at the same time. But I'm just guessing.
In my earliest days here I started giving away a couple of valueless shovelware, and I gained some blacklists...

That's just how things work here, you post a few threads, you share few opinions, and you get loads of blacklists.
a wise person told me here that you shouldn't care about blacklists at all of if you do, you should just stop posting in these forums
I bet you are going to get few more blacklists after this thread :))

You got blacklisted because some people are very silly. They imagine that the solution to not seeing lowest level trashiest giveaways is blacklisting everyone until it stops. Sane people would just not look at those giveaways to start with saving all the hassle, but I guess then they couldn't feel morally superior on forums or something.

The people who do that for anything other than some serious rulebreaking or something exceptional, are just silly people who get offended at everything. Don't let them get your attention. They think that they're this crazy valuable asset who are totally sticking it to you by prohibiting you from entering in their giveaways.
Basically it tends to be a combination of a bloated ego and a ridiculously thin skin.
Again, it can also be for legitimate rule breaking. But even then, the support will punish them. Personally, I have 0 people blacklisted. No reason to do it imo.

Honestly, I don't get why there's so much drama about blacklists.
Blacklist is a mechanism created to filter out some users' giveaways from another user's view. It should not be considered or used as blocking, banning or expression of hate. Problem is, a few users take advantage of this mechanism to create feuds with random people, groups of people, certain minorities and disadvantaged people, in order to promote their agenda. Or they're just projecting, thus believing that clumsily blocking away everyone else with the same problem, they'll eliminate their problem. I guess their plan is backfiring but they keep on trying.. 😛
Don't sweat the small stuff. ✌

I got blacklisted for some nonsensical reason so it's alright :)
This is pretty normal

You've broken somebody's unwritten rules (expectations) but other equally passive-aggressive users have conflicting expectations, so it is inevitable that you will be added to some lists. Blacklisting is usually a sulky attempt to indignantly validate a particular expectation without bothering to express it, like being upset that you're walking too fast or too slow without asking you to slow down or speed up. You'll be suspended if you genuinely do something wrong, but that would mean breaking written rules, not unwritten ones. Just ignore blacklist stats - they say more about the list makers than the people on the list, and you will rarely find giveaways that are unavailable to you as a result.

You may want to tread with care, while there's nothing inherently wrong with complimenting a woman on her looks, it can come across very poorly in the wrong context, even if performed with good intentions.
I don't need to tell you that female gamers have to deal, almost on a daily basis, with a lot of unwanted attention, unsolicited advances, harassment, strangers fishing for personal contact information, stalking, nasty comments and unpleasantries, from immature and insecure males, who seem to resent their very presence. All of which ends up pushing a lot of women to stop playing/being involved in the respective online communities, or simply disguise as 'guys' and hide their gender and real appearance.
While some females might enjoy the flirtations and attention, others just want to be respected and treated equally as their male counterparts, and not as some sexual fantasy.

So I know I did some bad stuff, I remember one of my friends telling me to post something on the forums and I got blacklisted by a lot of people. I also did some other bad stuff. Too bad most of them don't forgive you and let their blacklist stay.
I also barely comment anymore just because I don't want to get blacklisted anymore. Sure blacklists don't really matter that much but it still feels bad. Then again there will probably be someone that blacklists me for this comment.

Over the weekend I jumped from being on single blacklist to 30! Dont get me wrong, Im not complaing, I just want know If I did something wrong. Did I break some unwritten (or written) rule?
All I can think of is create some low-value giveaways and install "ESGST" extension.
