Hey,
With all the doom and gloom being forecast following the news that new games are not tradable for 30 days, I was just wondering, what is stopping people from using a service that acts as a middleman. Sort of like dispenser.tf. Only instead of arranging the trade, they will act as middleman and once the game buyer, trades them the keys, etc, they will get the game gifted from the bot (I am assuming that it cant be too hard to script something that does it automatically. Its basically changing the automatic trade to automatic gift). Then they gift the game to the buyer and the keys to the seller.

Considering dispenser.tf is a respected site, most people would probably not have any issues trusting that as the middleman.
At least this is how I was imaging it would work. However I noticed that they actually have a new service being tested that lets them bypass the Valve 30 day trade limit. This is what their website says right now.

ADDED FEATURE TO EXCHANGE UNTRADABLE GIFTS
We have added a test button under 'Shop Inventory' for you to send untradable gifts to the bot. We also added a way to add the bot to your Steam friendlist under Bot Customization Page. Please note that untradable gift trading is still under early test and there may be unforeseen errors. We suggest not to sell high valued untradable gifts before the feature is fully tested.

NOTE: Please do not reject any offer of untradable gifts under any circumstance. Also do not deposit untradable gifts from accounts other than the one which is linked to your shop.

Anyone knows how this works? Or if it even works at all?

Edit: How do I quote stuff on these forums? They dont seem to support bbcodes.

If will not be "trading", aka "safe exchange where you will get your items back if other side turns out to be a scammer after a week".

I'm guessing you'll gift your items to automated middleman, other side will gift items to automated middleman, middleman will gift you your new items. Slightly more secure than random people unfriending you after receiving keys.

The middleman accounts will just be trade banned.

Yep, its pretty much automated. The bot holds your keys as its sending you the gift of the game you bought. When you accept the gift, the bot releases the keys to the seller. As it is, its a great and safe solution for both parties.

How does the bot gift you the game? I went to do a trade at the weekend using this new system but chickened out.

When I want to gift someone a game I can send it through Steam but they need to be on my friends list or I need their email addy. Dispenser doesn't have my email and at the time I went to do it there was no mention of being added by the bot - in the trade window it just said I would be sent the game as a gift if it wasn't tradeable. There were no details as to what exactly happens so I declined.

Is there some sort of automated friend request from the bot? I wish it was explained properly. Was searching the site and couldn't come up with anything that satisfied my doubts. One other thought I had was maybe you have to have your own shop and it gets put in your Dispenser inventory?

As far as it was explained to me by the creator of the site, technically, if you send gifts without using Steam's UI, you can send to anyone on the Steam network.

It works.
I bought a game.
you have to send the keys/metals first to the bot.
Then you receive another trade offer with the game.

Nope its not. Not saying people can't eventually chargeback the card they used to purchase the game and you end up without your game HOWEVER thats where you should be doing a serious background check on the person you're about to trade.

I've been a trader on dispenser.tf for nearly 2 years now. Its not a scam.

That website is legit, I use it often, if I can't find the proper value for the games i'm looking for, I go to ST.
