While I know a lot of things about point and click games, I don't know much about this one. It certainly looks cool though, as I said. ;P

Waiting for HH. πŸ˜†

Do they have HH on single tier bundles?

According to their FAQ they don't. But I'd like some kind of confirmation too.

Comment has been collapsed.

I have no idea, tbh and i couldn't find it mentioned somewhere on their support pages.

Edit: Looks like they mentioned it like this:

"Weekly" bundles (those that last 7 days or less) and most of one tier bundles do NOT have Happy Hour. <<

So that doesn't mean all but some, if i understand correctly.

You'll get a lot more out of HH if you buy it now ;)

Comment has been collapsed.

Hmm but you have to buy the bundle twice, first as early buyer for yourself as non-gift and the second time as a gift, then you get 3 extra gifts on top of the gift purchased itself, (1+3), was it that way? But i don't know if HH counts for bundles with only 1 tier.

But you are still very right, to get the most out of it, you'll need to buy in the first week as non-gift.

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes, you have to buy it early, but then you get 4 copies for HH rather than 2.

So it's 1+4 rather than 2. Quite a difference.

But yeah, it does depend if it goes HH.

Very nice! Tempted, but the problem is that I hardly game, and am already stuck in the middle of quite a few adventure games, and have quite a few more I haven't started yet. Retirement can't come soon enough. :)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Hehe. Then I must jump in here and say that I have probably 50 GOOD adventure games unplayed, including these here. So what the heck, as of 2018 I am retired for real :) Gonna just enjoy that

Congratulations! I still have quite a few years to go. I'm sure my backlog will only grow until then. Not through this bundle, perhaps, but I have quite a few adventure games I backed on Kickstarter which I'm waiting for. (From this list I backed Kelvin, Jane Jensen's Pinkerton Road, which brought Gabriel Knight, and gave a token pledge to The Journey Down.)

it seems IndieGala correctly requires me to pay local VAT, which here is 25%

So I end up paying 4.19 EUR.

Any europeans here that have to pay a higher price?

Edit: IndieGala seems to be Italian, so the "old rules" VAT would be 22% ... so the changes is not that big.

I do .. and that adds even a conversion rate from EUR to my local currency.

I'm ranting. I should stop buying... it will save me more money in the long run 😁

Was the same for me, when I still bought directly from Indiegala (I'm in Finland). I suppose it's still like that, but ever since I discovered Groupbuys a couple years ago I got all my Indiegala bundles that way ...

Sorry, this is totally unrelated but I was reading through and noticed you're from Finland..
May I ask you what "Sossu" means? Is it only a person' name? does it mean anything anyway?
Asking 'cause I've noticed that different Steam users have that word in their name and most of them are from Finland..

Basically it means a social security office or what ever you call a place where you collect social security benefits.

asked because that's how we call our city in our language. Well, pronunciation is most probably different but that's how we write it =P

Slang for words starting with "social", depends on context or group. Social services, a social worker, someone who's on welfare (sossupummi), a social democrat. In context of Steam profiles, who knows, probably the welfare bums ;)

I see, thanks :)
eh, there are some sossupummi players ..did you check beforehand? =P
other "sossusomething" I see are jaba, gunnar, simeon (this made think sossu was some kind of name), smoky and koala.

Seems as if someone at IG made a New Year's resolution for better bundles. This is the best I can remember. One for me and if I don't miss HH, I might also get gifts.

Normally I'd wait for HH but it's tempting even at "full price"... I think not all IG bundles have HH, is there a way to tell if this one will?

Permalink

No, there's no way to tell.
Buy if you buy bundles now on discount, HH will give 4 copies rather than 2, which is a massive boon.

Heyyy, I decided to add half of the bundle to my library and half to give away, what 4-5 games would you choose if you were me in this situation? Already took Agatha Christie cuz I love reading her books and already read ABC Murders one.

Deponia if you liked previous Deponia games (the one in the bundle is the fourth), Silence if you liked The Whispered World (the one in the bundle is the sequel), Yesterday Origins if you like Yesterday (the one in the bundle is the sequel), Gabriel Knight is a remake of a classic though I've never played it. The rest are ok I guess, I never played them myself but they're standalone games at least, except for "Super Turbo Demon Busters!" which doesn't actually have anything to do with point and click adventures games so I'm not sure why it's in this bundle apart from it being a game played with the mouse.

Permalink

is Silence playable without having played The Whispered World?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's pretty much a separate story so yes, but it will spoil the ending for The Whispered World. So you can play it if you have no intent on ever playing The Whispered World or don't care about being spoiled about it's ending.

I suggest you take a thorough look at the Steam pages for each game and take for yourself every game you think you might enjoy. (And don't already have, but from your wording I take it you don't have most of them.) They're all good games. High quality. Don't deprive yourself.

... are you effing kidding me!
Deponia Doomsday gets bundled the very next day I win it on SG. I mean, probably not a big deal for most here, but this was my first win in three years and I'm guessing the next is gonna take another three. Double facepalm can't do this luck justice.

Great bundle for a change though, I'll give you that.

I am genuinely surprised, because this is a pretty damn good bundle. First one in a longtime I buy for myself for some of the games.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yep... No filler whatsoever, really, and a whole bunch (9!) of good (some really good) games for $4 USD? Really good value for money, the kind you'd normally only see from Humble Bundle and sometimes Bundle Stars/Fanatical. Not really Indiegala's m. o.... (which is something like 30-60% good games, 40-70% filler).

My only problem is I'm only missing 4 of the games, so I'm not quite sure yet, but we'll see...
$5 CAD, plus price will rise

Especially surprised to see Deponia Doomsday and Silence here.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I bought it for two games and I am not even annoyed that I paid 10 bucks for Silence a few weeks ago. I cannot name any reason why one should not buy this pack if they are interested in at least two of the games. Which is so strange to say when it comes to IndieGala. Or most any bundles in the past year.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, I think I'll be getting it.
Just, buying bundles regularly tends to put you in a pretty cheap mindset. :P
Also, I hadn't really looked at the two brand-new games here. But, really looks like a stupendously high-quality bundle.

Super Turbo Demon Busters! seems to have some reviews that make me question if that's not just filler. The rest are fantastic, but that one's got me wondering.
