I've only played the original and Project: Snowblind (a series spinoff), both on the PS2. Both are enjoyable however, and I would recommend getting into the series.

At least the original and Human Revolution.

I enjoyed both very much, even if I've barely gotten anywhere in HR.
I can recommend! Namless seal of approval, definitely.
EDIT: Only buy Invisible War if you have the spare cash. I haven't played it myself, but everyone who ever played it ever can't be wrong! It's got to be bad...

It's not terrible, it's just not as good as the others. If the other two never existed, IW would probably be considered a pretty good game. But by comparison, it just doesn't stand up.

If it wasn't called DX it would be good FPS, but console one so likely forgoten. The FOV is horrid I think... Might try it on my 4:3 screen though...

It's not too bad with hi-res graphics pack and new renderers. Some parts aren't too good, but it's not horrible if you can get past the models.

Hated original DeusEx.
Loved DeusEx: HR

I don't know why. It's just... pure awesome.
Great art style (those brown/gold/yellow colors), awesome soundtrack (your apartment theme You will remember forever). Story is one of the most entertaining stories I've experienced lately (yeah, I bought it kinda late, last xmass).

Totaly worth the full price imho.

Did you play the original all the way through or give up at some early point? The story of HR is about half as good as the original. The gameplay is obviously updated, but I wish they kept melee instead of those canned takedowns. Also many of the upgrade options were almost useless, whereas in the first most of them really made a difference.

Still both are GOTY for their respective years to me.

The original Deus Ex is brilliant - a piece of gaming history, really - but if you can't stand older games then you might not like it. It depends on your tastes. Personally I love it, and many say that it's the best in the series.

HR is a definite must-buy. I'm playing through it now and can't imagine anyone not liking it.

I haven't played IW yet so I can't offer an opinion. I'll get into that once I've finished HR.

Overall, buy at least HR, and the collection is a good bet.

Human Revolution is before Deus Ex, you can play HR without needing to play the original Deus Ex.

Both are awesome and extremely immersive.

Definitely buy the games, I've enjoyed Deus Ex and HR greatly. If you like the whole FPS with RPG elements and you enjoy tactical concepts like sneaking or killing... There are multiple ways to complete most missions... go for it.

I bought Deus Ex HR when it was on sale @ 75% somewhere else recently. Really nice game.

I also just bought Deus Ex GOTY from Steam. It's a LOT of fun, even moreso than Deus Ex HR.
I grabbed these two mods that noticeably improved the graphics (of Deus Ex GOTY):

http://www.moddb.com/mods/project-hdtp

I'd highly recommend both, especially at 75%.

$6 for Augmented Edition is more expensive?
I guess if you want to buy ALL of the DE games then yes... but on its own it's the cheapest I've seen it.

I haven't played the original but HR was pretty good. Gaming mechanics could have been a bit better and certain animations were a bit, I don't know, bothersome. I loved the storyline even if it's a little predictable, but overall I think it's worth the purchase. I'd buy the original too if I could.

Most people may tell you to skip Invisible War, but don't. It was a terrible disappointment but really it wasn't a bad game in it's own right. Just be prepared for that.

I loved the First Deus Ex, Excelent Gameplay, great history and many finals. Invisible war i like too but it was too far way form the first`s storyline. I recommend pick the collection.

Play the original, don't forget to get a few graphical mods to just tweak it up a bit.

Haven't touched IW yet, because I haven't gotten around to finishing the first yet, but it doesn't seem too bad.

I also constantly hear this. DE:GOTY is the best with DE:HR a little bit behind it, although it's still an excellent game. DE:IW... I've heard mostly just poor things about it.
