Somebody offered me 10 bucks for my key of DD + DLC. It sounds kinda fishy to me, since it has been a bundle game recently. What do you guys think?

Depends on who it is and how they're offering that $10. Sometimes these deals are real, sometimes not. Trade safe always and feel free to share the details with me if you want a better analysis of the situation. :)

$10? Don't know much about the trading market but I think that's a bit too much.
The game has been in two bundles and if it was me I wouldn't pay more than 7 or 8.

Is it Steam wallet or paypal? If steam wallet, it sounds pretty normal, maybe a teensy bit high, but nothing to get scared over. If Paypal, I'd probably think twice and really check through his rep and everything.

"Hey guys, I'm not sure if I should rip this guy off or not. I think he may actually be trying to rip me off."

The only reason you're hesitant is due to the fact you know how little you paid for it.

That doesn't change anything. It only proves you're being upfront with him about ripping him off and if he goes with it, it should only further prove that he's probably trying to rip you off.

Everything I said is still true though.

I know and you're right. I see my mistake alright, and I know I can't prove I really did, since, you know, I'm just a guy typing behind a computer screen. I can only say sorry.

" I think he may actually be trying to rip me off."

That's not true. He's afraid that the other guy may actually be trying to scam him, there is a difference.

I'm not sure if this was meant as a joke or if you're actually being serious. I also don't know how you define those two terms, but I think most people would disagree with you.

I know and you're right.

Regardless, he just said I was right in my assumptions so...

So I had enough of this and actually added him and asked him why such a high price. He knew about it and apparently wanted to buy it for 10 bucks because a friend said he'd pay 15 for it. He already traded it. If you don't believe me, I've got the entire conversation HERE

Well, this is how I define the two. Ripping Off: overcharging for an item, getting the other party to overpay for the actual value of the item, but both parties know and agree on the transaction price before hand. Scamming: basically fraud, not delivering on what was promised before hand.

Having established that, I can see where the OP comes from. Okay, you can say it sounds like he's ripping off the other guy (agreeing to $10 while the game is about $7), but he's not afraid of being ripped off (that would be if the game costs $15, and he only gets $10 from the other guy). He is afraid of being scammed (that's when he gets nothing in return even though being promised $10, giving away the game while the other guy does some transaction trick and denies him any money)

So the difference is pretty clear to me. And you probably interpret that he doesn't know about the actual game value, and call him out for making this thread, trying to gather info (actual game value) to see if $10 is overpriced or underpriced (hence ripping off or being ripped off). While the way I see it: he knows the game costs $7, he knows the offer is better, but that's why he is worried in trading and potential scam, that if something is too good to be true, then it probably ain't (well sure, the difference is only $3, but still). He's just being concerned and asks for trading opinions.

You sir, helped me a lot. That's exactly what I tried to say. I'm just terrible with making myself understandable it seems.

Fair enough. In my opinion, scamming is a specific type of ripping off, but I've seen both terms used in both context.

If you look up the definition of "to rip off" you'll typically see to swindle and to steal.

I don't know what to think anymore to be honest. I mean, Peroxide made me feel bad, because I never seen it in that way. I'm just scared to be scammed since I thought it was a pretty high offer for that game. But I rip someone off if that trade is real. If I tell him he can lower the price he still could be a scammer.

That's slightly to much, think in the 7 to 8.50 range. It is a good game though. Also a F2P sequel is in the works, so the price may go down more.
