I'm wondering, has anyone switched their original team to another one to earn the 1000 max points? Is there any advantage besides the 1000 points?

The advantage of ending up on Team Corgi and win the race everyday. Also you get a second badge, I think (though some people claimed it might be broken, too).

It is not kind of fraudulent to start an event like this, with thusands of dollars (or more) involved, and change the rules every second? Muddying the waters since day one, and worse every other day? Causing harm to developers with the confusion they contributed to?

It would certainly seem that way given the event is designed around pay to play. I want to doubt anyone is dumb enough to actually buy things for "boost capacity" but part of me just knows there are stupid whales who have done just that in the sum of thousands of dollars.

I'm pretty sure that once they start combining the chance to win something (prizes at the end) and tie it's ability to win to monetary purchases (higher win chance if you spend €/£/$/...) that in some countries you now have to respect gambling laws.
No EULA will prevent that.
In some countries (Belgium, ..) those gambling laws even encompass lootboxes and the like, and I'm fairly certain that changing the rules mid event without cancelling/refunding/... you break said laws. It's weird in a way that everyone can enter this, because usually it's for 18/21+ only to gamble.

I still don't get how max points work. I did the four "quests" that are each supposed to raise your max points capacity by 500. But today it says I can only get 100 points. Is the system broken or am I misunderstanding something?

One-time boosts to the maximum points you can get? So your max goes back down the next day? Weird, but thanks for explaining it!

No, your max is the max, it'll never go down. But it's not something you get daily.
Compare it to gaming, if you add +2 CONSTITUTION you might get +20HP and +20MaxHP.

That's quite the gamble. No one knew the Lunar tokens would go over to the next event... and that might be a one-time thing, you might lose all 12K. Do you really want to risk that? (Though if like Lunar/now it could pay off well)

They wanted to change XP than decided against it, swapping around as much as the rules of this event did.
For now (since they can always double-swap) it's 100XP per level like usual badges.

Same with me and my 5K tokens here. Like there's any point, I'll grab a couple levels of the badge, the Hare emoticon (I'm team Hare and the rest of emotes/backgrounds are ugly as hell) and that's it. No point even trying, the only thing that's worth something is the voucher and that's out of reach for the average users.

Why can I only redeem 100 points now? I should be able to redeem 6000.
Its saying 9465 boosted / 9465 max, but I didn't boost that much? I only have 6450 tokens and I didn't spend any.

It's a one-time thing. So you'll only have 2 (out of 5) at most... if they don't decide to retro-actively delete one aswell (I sure hope not since I <3 my Corgi even if I abandoned team)

It's been two days that I can only boost for a 100/day.
I have spend around €70, played all the days (+100 cap/day), did the qualifier things (500*4) but still only can boost for a hundred.. since two days
So yeah, fun and interactive

But did you get 8470 points on the day of your spendeture. Boostpoints are one-time things, you don't get your investment to bank on daily (unlike achievement points, which are basically fluff filler).

Yup, the recent "converted Lunar New Year tokens" slashing bummed me out too -.-' Seems it was poor wording on their part, added to all other confusions. Oh well.
The team switching was introduced yesterday. It's a random drop that you get from boosting, which allows you to change to another random team (not one of your choosing), thus gaining another 100xp badge.

It's 1000XP so 10x 100xp badge. +100XP from another team badge. +chance to win games depending on what team you end up at.
Also the Lunar thing is still the most confusing thing about this event, I have yet to grasp what they even wanted to do here.

So you can see Steam knows what it HAS send me, and knows what it SHOULD have send me, yet the 4000 startout coins are still missing. Unless they confirm you really were supposed to get 4000 (or whatever value deemed for you) for both events combined?
Spend 2000 coins for a badge that gives 200XP while you can get 2000 for the same now? Well, that's just too bad?
I assume it's just more buggy mess of this event though :/

It's almost working now. Token number is still wrong, but other numbers seem to mostly line up. Shame the event is still totally borked due to team imbalance, but most of the technical stuff seems to have been sorted out. Only ended up taking them 5 days to do so....

I think the "put in other team" is rigged to go pig, since it has the lowest memberamount (and yes, I got placed in pig too).

This is quickly becoming one of the worst events in the history of Steam. If boost capacity doesn't reset daily there is no salvaging it.
