How do you like the Steam Grand Prix?

The text shows: Corgi first place, Hare second and Cockatiel third but pictures show Tortoise second and Hare third, lol. Obviously the pictures are correct but I'm curios if this just a translation error or even the English page shows that

Funny ironie the team that had many users at the begining that used the glitch at the Steam Grand Prix has finaly won the race and didnt get desqualified at all (also the team seems to had much more user that any of the other teams did). Afterthat steam really want to say what is right, lol.

Can you turn those buyable backgrounds into gems?

It's the best thing ever! Now that it's over and stopped destroying Steam servers so something works for a change.

And now that it's over they finally bother telling me that I actually have some tokens that I got a 5€ discount with. Before this it was all about doing tons of extra hassle to get anything. Still so much worse than cards, but at least something.

i got myself the rainbow ring background and city emoticon plus badge level 4. that's it.
i did all i could do and made it barely half way to the 15k tokens for a tiny 5€ discount. pfffff

i got my steam account in spring 2013 and this was the only event i really disliked and big time at that.
let's hope they have something less terrible planned for christmas.

I honestly really disliked it, it was confusing, annoying, and the entire event was completely one-sided. At least I got two cool badges out of it and a few sick wallpapers. Pretty bummed that my team was dead in the water last pretty much the entire event, rest in peace team cockatiel, you deserved better.

I liked that it included actually playing the games somehow (through getting achievements). Shame that it was pretty useless as one did hit the points cap pretty much right away. I would have added some optional daily tasks which would have given more points. Structure was confusing at first which didn't help. Got lots of badge levels for free and didn't expect to win anything so the event was alright.

Bad event - not even the support knew the rules when I asked them (actually they've given me totally wrong informations) - the badges are ugly, the emoticons and backgrounds boring, and the so called "game" was no fun at all.
The idea of getting points from playing games was interesting, but badly implemented. Whoever missed this event didn't miss a thing. 😺

had no chance against team corgi anyway, so i didnt care a lot about the race itself.

Haha, I thought I'd wait with redeeming my tokens, to see if I'd somehow get that €5 discount after all (all the other rewards are just trash anyway) and now they won't even let me redeem them anymore: "There was a problem redeeming your tokens." (when trying to get the badge). So I'm stuck with 7916 tokens. Not that it really matters, it's just annoying - like the whole "event".

Do you still get tokens for buying from store?

The event was so bad that I didn't bother with it much and forgot to boost again. Not a big loss though haha just 100 - 400 tokens.
On the plus side I can still redeem my tokens :D
