I would have to advise anyone from purchasing this. It's a great game but literally unplayable 75% of the time thanks to the 2k launcher.

Really? I've been playing Mafia Definitive Edition and I have no problems with it. I mean, it sucks, but I can play the game fine. You can even completely skip it by adding a launch command line.

I'm basing this mostly on my time with chimera squad but the 2k launcher would not start the game and worhthe work around it atill crashed like 3/4ths of the times I started the game. Now chimera squad itself was buggy without the launcher so that my be part of it, but that launcher made me give up playing that game

Hmm, interesting.
I've played 'vanilla' (with DLCs, but no WotC) in February 2016 and don't remember any issues at all and replayed it in January 2020 with WotC and shitload of mods - and obviously, there were some crashes thanks to the mods, 202hrs.
Also played Chimera (what a crappy game btw) in January 2022 and experienced only one crash, 24hrs.

NEW UPDATE:
Games on Steam Store can no longer have discounts higher than 90% anymore. XCOM 2 likely to be the last AAA game to have 94% off (at least until Valve takes it's new policy away). Third party stores are unaffected by this update for now.
